Re: Metatron
In the end i just think the Sabertooth is too wimpy for the job     so I'm putting in the Sidewinder 80 amps per channel PICK THE BONES OUT OF THAT!!!
It should take Tron and throw it to the other side of the arena no problems.
Golden rule If in doubt go over the top with the speck

Re: Metatron
Hey Mate,
regarding the Sabretooth, I've had the same problem as well as some other Australian builders.
In simple terms, the Sabretooth can't put out the power needed for 4 motors (14.4V@19.2V in my case)
and the Reciever. Soo, you will need one of these:
an external BEC
that plugs in the way it tells you on the Sabretooth User Guide. (Has a picture of a Dimension Engineering
BEC connected to it, Fig.5.2 on Page 12)
Hope it helps

Re: Metatron
Thanks for the advice I have a Bec that should do the trick. the Sabertooth is going to be fitted to a 2 motor robot now. as the sidewinder takes no prisoners in the 4 motor pusher ram bot that is Tron. :proud: :proud: :proud:
Oh and for those that may be intrested I have put a steel spike on the front    to sort out some of the little plastic robots that are arround. :uhoh: :uhoh:

Re: Metatron
New blue wheels fitted, motor replaced, Sidewinder speed controller fitted new DX5e RX fitted. All looking good I may fit a different spike on the front and put a charging point in the back so I don€™t have to keep taking the cover off to re-charge. But apart from that the old Metatron (Tron) is ready for ROBOT GLORY!! :D :D :D

Re: Metatron
http://www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/S...PM1600-250.jpgI use one of these.
quote from web site Spektrum's new Voltage Protector prevents a DSM„ receiver's voltage from dropping below the proper operating level in lower voltage applications such as 4-cell 1/12 carpet racers. Installation is as simple as plugging it into an open channel slot on the receiver unit.
But i run 2 x 12v drill motors at 19.2v (2 x 9.6v) and it runs fine.

Re: Metatron
Just a question on the Sidewinder speed controller I cant get the flip control to work it was ok when I used the Sidewinder in St Hammer but after the repair it dose not seem to work is there any reason for this. I have tried the flip control in all the receiver channels but it dose not work??? :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
