      Information
      Merlin is the first ever heavyweight built by Team MAD from Leicestershire, the first version was built in 2003 for the 7th series of Robot Wars, however it suffered technical issues the day before the qualifiers so pulled out. It has however enjoyed more success on the live event circuit usually taking home the silver on a lot of occasions. However it did win the Roaming Robots Magna event in 2005, Robots Live! at Huddersfield in 2008 and Robots of Destruction in 2008. It's greatest achievement was winning the Tag Team Championships in 2006 with Velocirippa. Merlin has been rebuilt and upgraded so many times over the years but it still retains its flipper which has proved a lot of times at being good at throwing a robot over the fence. Sharing its name with a famous wizard, this robots capable of making a lot of contestants disappear as if by magic.
