Was just going to be a super fast ram bot. Toying with a hammer but not sure.

Are you sticking with Gimson motors or trying something different this time around? If it is going to be a ram bot, 4 wheel drive perhaps?

Erm it's just a ram bot without a wedge to see if it glances off spinners. Which is really what's built to fight. And I'm giving these a try randomly

with skate wheel hub adapters and wheels. Whole thing was like £30 or so delivered and just screws together stress free.
The big thing I should mention, is that if I stay away from a wedge I just need a quick box, in which case any 12v motor setup I can get cheap and find hubs and wheels for should be enough to bash along at a decent rate and hit someone. Obv if it's rubbish you learn and get something better for the next robot.
Fair enough, can't imagine it'll take very long to make mobile. I've not heard anything bad about those sort of motors so hopefully they'll serve you well.

Yeah well if I was building a big wedge it would need speed 900 drive or something similar to pick up and push. I can't make that myself so was looking for another idea within the realms of possibility.
any chance of a pic of the skate wheel setup? sounds interesting
Is the skate adaptor something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIY-Electr...0AAOSwoA9ZhBVv
Had my eye on them for a while but didn't know if anyone else used them. I was sort of hoping that they weren't on peoples radar yet

The motors are linked above, hubs are

and wheels are

It's in a box in bits as it just showed up. I'll put it together tonight if I can or over the next few days if not to show you it all together. Thanks for the interest in my robot.
i tell you what, that looks like quite a nice little set up! the wheels and hubs look pretty robust. I didn't know electric skateboards were a thing but that's certainly peaked my interest now, looks worth a shot for the price.
I should mention the skateboard hub adapters have different options, ie. 4mm shaft, 6mm shaft. The version I've linked is 4mm but I have 6mm to go with the motors I ordered.
