Help with choosing a toolbox!

I've been using a couple of tool bags for a couple of years now, and handle has given up. They've been great but not that water-proof so I've decided to get some boxes instead.

I went to BnQ and had a mooch and my three options are two boxes, an upright wheelie box or a low wheelie box tool chest thing. I've gotta get tools into the boot most days so boxes look easy to lift, but also have to walk long distances which is why the wheelie boxes look good.

Any one have any experience of these wheelie boxes n do they get too heavy to lift? All advice appreciated.

I opted for the DeWalt Toughboxes with assorted trolly. 1 mayor disadvantage £££££££££££££. Advantage, probably good for the rest of my life.

Although mine is B&Q's own brand and was about £25 at the time. Have to say, I love it. Yeah it's quite big but it does mean there is plenty of room for things and having the wheels is a big advantage. It's got a couple of ledges that act as handles at the sides, which make it quite easy for lifting in and out of the car and, most importantly, it makes an excellent seat.

Can fit my charging box with lipos and spare nuts and bolts etc inside, then put the robot ontop of that with spare parts and a few tools around it, close it up and its all tight enough not to move about... and its easy to transport, Just wheel that up to the event from the car park and carry my transmitter by hand...anything extra i just put in a backpack.

Theres loads of cheaper alternatives around.

I use a larger one of those toolboxes Jamie linked, suits me perfect, small tools and bolts/rx/anything small in the top and the feather and any larger tools in the lower part. it's very convenient being able to wheel it along, I've had it for 2 years now and it doesn't show any signs of wear.

Thats cool. Are they hard work to hoof into the boot. Went for another look round the toolbox isle but couldn't decide. I have loads of sockets and spanners n am scared a single wheelie box will do me in hoofing it up n down lol. Thanks for the replies it's good to know they're sturdy n all that. Have my eye on a stanley pro mobile rolling tool chest! May spend monies tomorrow!

What do people think about the upright wheelie boxes as opposed to the chest type? I imagine the upright type to be a mare to get in the boot of the megane of love.
