The Mighty Seraphim

Because of problems with the original drive system I have decided to completely re-model the robot.
I thought this might be interesting to some people thinking of making a different type of featherweight robot.
Just to remind you how the old robot looks here is a link to the pictures.

A picture of the new motors that I hope to use.
The main problem is they are twice the weight of the old motors seraphim was under weight (when I took off the armour on the front) but not 2Kg!! So I will have to re-design the whole thing to get the weight to 13.6Kg

Hey craig, did those motors and gearbox's i saw in eds garage not do the trick? Those new ones are massive!

Ed did a brilliant job (thanks again Ed) but it was a case of fixing one weakness and then something else breaking so I decided to call it a day and re think the design.
What I really need is a 100-150w motor with an epicyclic gearbox with an output shaft about 12mm diameter and speed of about 120-150rpm
Please let me know if you find some

A picture of the new drive motor for Seraphim I have fitted a drive spindle into the original annular gearbox shaft, with a section of 17mm diameter to fit the original Seraphim hubs for the wheels.

I'm not supposed to be doing anything on Seraphim but the TV is so bad at the moment, I find I am in the garage doing bits and pieces on it and it seems to be going ok

Here are some pictures of the project so far, the front is the forked end, and the sword will be attached to the pointed end, the big problem with this robot is getting the weight down to 13.6Kg, each motor wheel and hubcap are 4.2kg? I think the first attempt will be a little over weight.
