You can pick them up in maplins. They have a few relays so take the controller along with you so you get the right ones
tried maplins,rs components dont stock them.
the relay is Schrack RP 820006 (6VDC 250V/8A DPST).
if i cant find any i'll get a sabertooth.
thanks for your reply

It at least has the technical specs for the relays. You obviously don't need to use the exact same relay when you put the new ones in (although it would be better) but I am quite sure that someone like Rapid electronics or Farnell can supply an equivelant. Probably the most important part is to make sure that it will fit into the holes you have taken it out of.
What I would suggest you do is download the PDF data sheet and send it to Rapid asking if the do an equivelant (www.rapidonline.com).

You could always try Electronize of course.
I would recommend using exactly the same relay, the success of the FR15 series has been due to the selection of the relay plus some other software mods. In fact some users have found the performance of the FR15 better than the FR30, it's not just the current rating but also the voltage rating of the contacts. The FR15 has been better able to cope with the back emf voltage from the motor especially when changing motor direction. Coil voltage does have to be 6V of course.
