Ask the Executioner team. They ran a modified chainsaw motor for their disk. Impressive results.
Nope, no-one guessed it
Gary, Where I work my boss got hold of an 80hp jet engine complete with gear box to a 5,000rpm output shaft. A little over the top but weighting only 20kg could be possible (execpt fuel capacity). I belive it was a 747 starter motor . Even if they let you use enough fuel the exhaust would be so hot it could be classed as a weapon and disallowed and its not classed as an IC engine which is what it states in the rules as being allowed. Its impractical but then again....
Another posssiblity that crossed my mind was a steam powered robot, know a few people who build them. Not been done yet to my knowlegde.
Perhaps Ed will dig further in his wallet for a big pool to run the steam robots?
Robot? yep
Tools? yep
Cozzy? nah - aw what the heck
would the coal etc and the water be counted as consumables?
probably not - just like the lilos rubber rings and ducks
Im not sure a steam-powered robot would qualify either, strictly speaking, since it is described as an external combustion engine - ie the combustion occurs outside the pressure system. However, I am sure if somebody did come up with one then the rule would be modified to suit!
Funny you should mention that.......was working on a steam powered, self driving robot. Still on the drawing board, needs work but it might get into the arena before it stops working.
(stop laughing Gary)
im not
be it a walker? Or are you coming to the dark side and using thoes funny round things?
