Robots
Rule > ROBOT
WARS > The Judges
The robots in the arena have 5
minutes to immobilise their opponent, if after time is up and no robot is
immobile and there is no clear winner, the judges have to decide. The three judges mark on
style, control, damage and aggression giving points to each robot in a
fight. Of these four factors damage and aggression will be
the primary criteria for determining the winner.
It is often very difficult to make decisions, especially when the
robots look like they both have won. There are often controversial decisions
which get the crowd booing and us at home too but the judges decision is
final!
The judges have changed
slightly over the years but the three we have today are:

Mat has not only been a judge

original team members who started it all! He used to work for the BBC
Visual Effects Department where he designed effects for such shows as
Doctor Who and Blake's 7 and working on shows like The Adventure Game.
After that he did co-producing and other projects. Yes, his career
certainly has been in television! He is also keen in science and astronomy
as well as robots.
