Thread: Charging discharging and cycling batteries

    Hi all

    got some new nimhs 4300mah charged then up in order to start cycling put them then on a discahrge to charge cycle but the discharge took 4hrs+ and i had to stof the discharge rate was 1A is this the problem just seemed to be taking forever and didnt even finish it

    any help????


    also how many times should i cycle before using them?

    A 4300mAh pack will take over 4 hours to discharge at 1 amp.

    Discharge at a higher rate, e.g. 4 amps. Should take just over an hour.

    To be honest, you might be better off just using them.

    I agree, however you may notice an improved performance after a couple of fights at an event. If they have been sitting for a while they will take a couple of cycles to get the chemistry going at peak efficiency. I normally do a quick charge discharge and a slower one before an event.
