Just to point out right away, this is not a real tournament, it is a hypothetical. And I've done this before with limited popularity, it not having been on a forum this scale ( http://strickenone.proboards.com/index. ... 504&page=1 ). So I'm re-trying it here to kick some interest back into Fanfic.

It's a predicting game! 64 real robots and 64 vapourbots are participating, and the seeding is taken from what would have been Series 8 of Robot Wars, had all the seeds returned. I've done the line-ups, and I will post detailed results one heat each, round-by-round; thou shalt predict! The points are as follows...if you predict:

One Round 1 robot that goes through to Round 2, you get 1 point
Two Round 1 robots in separate fights - 2 points
Two Round 1 robots in the same fight - 3 points
    Three Round 1 robots... - 4 points
    All Round 1 robots... - 5 points
    ----
One Round 2 robot that goes through to the Heat Final - 3 points
    Both robots... - 5 points
    ----
Robot that wins a heat - 5 points
    ----
    One robot that wins a semi-final in Round 1 - 5 points
    Two... - 7 points
    Three... - 9 points
    All... - 10 points
    ----
One robot that moves on to the Grand Final - 8 points
    Both... - 10 points
    ----
One robot that moves on to the Final - 10 points
    Both... - 15 points
    ----
Robot who wins the Play-off - 15 points
    ----
Winner of the Series - 25 points

    ----

    So, who wants to participate?

Time for a bump, I'd say.

    Round 2

Firestorm V (6) vs. Shadow Zone Forever

Both robots were capable of flipping and self-righting. What made the difference in this battle was Shadow Zone's ability to run inverted. So when Firestorm flipped Shadow Zone, Shadow Zone drove away to self-right safely. When Firestorm eventually got flipped, they self-righted onto Shadow Zone's flipper. Shadow Zone drove to the arena wall and flipped Firestorm out.

Spawn Again (27) vs. Flick of the Wrist

Not exactly a back and forth match. Spawn Again managed to get a lucky flip at the start, but that itself was its doom because Flick drove back in and wedged itself into Spawn Again's flipper slot before they could close it. The old fear of Spawn's reliability came true again as the flipper piston was damaged, and they were weaponless. Flick of the Wrist shoved Spawn Again around the arena for the rest of the fight and won a large judges' decision.

    Heat N Final
Shadow Zone Forever vs. Flick of the Wrist

Shadow Zone went against the wrong opponent. Flipping Flick of the Wrist did little, whereas he was rammed all over the shop. There was a moment where Shadow Zone nearly got Flick OOTA, but fired the flipper too late and Flick slid across the wall. The judges' decision was very close, but Flick won it via aggression.

AJ takes first place, and despite playzooki's valiant first attempt, he does not make the scoreboard yet. Only two more heats left!

    Round 1

X-Terminator 3 (4) vs. Hypertension Mk 3 vs. Eye of Ran II vs. Infusion

X-Terminator was dealt the death blow after several hits from Eye of Ran, but then Infusion went after it and attacked it. While Joey was kept busy, Hypo drove into Eye of Ran, got under, and ejected it!

Tiberius 4 (29) vs. Death Adder 3 vs. P.C.C. vs. Beast

An unfortunate result for Dave Shep, as P.C.C. was set upon by Tiberius early on and pitted. Beast meanwhile unsuccessfully attempted to throw Death Adder 3 out of the ring, but failed. Then Death Adder managed to lodge its axe into Beast's front flipper. As they were busy mingling, Tiberius came over and chomped into the rear of Beast, sensing weakness! Together, Death Adder and Tiberius threw Beast down the pit!

    Round 2
    Tiberius 4 (29) vs. Hypertension Mk 3
