i think we should club together and treat John Bell and Scorpion to a trip over there.

I second all that Swanny said (specially the drink part ). I never back down from any fight, but there is no use going into an arena for me where I cant win by lack of pit.
Well Swan, when I was in Wales, I think just about every builder I talked to brought up spinners. You may not like it, but I never thought about it prior to my trip over there when people kept asking me about it...
Sorry Leo. No pit. Nice rail, though.
David, the only roboteers that are afraid of spinners (and i put those quotes in deliberately) are usually the ones that never fought against one. Once they find that it usually isnt too bad with the odd exception, the apprehention fades away. But since there is no arena to fight them in in the UK, those roboteers never face them so the apprehention lingers on.
The rail is of no use to me, not yet anyway.
What about Shrederator - thats an EVIL machine, but I read that it was beaten 16 times in the past, so it cant be that bad.
If you go onto YouTube, you can see a battle it had against Tekka Maki, where Shrederator lost! I was surprised.
A quick update from Team Storm on our trip to RoboGames and what the team is up to in general at the moment. Weve just signed a sponsorship deal with two heavyweight IT companies, VMWare and Computacenter.
This isnt just great news for Team Storm, its also great news for the sport as it shows that people are still interested and see our robots as something worth getting involved with. The funding that Team Storm has obtained has opened the doors to allow us to compete internationally, as well as putting the team in a unique position to use some of that funding to promote robots and roboteering.
As well as new sponsors weve also just updated the Team Storm website with loads of new content, as well as some old content (event reports going back to 2001 from the team). Theres details about the Team Storm Academy also on there which is all about our desire to put money back into the sport.
Were really looking forward to getting out to the US and showing what us Brits are made of!
Keep up to date with our blog, to be updated regularly from San Francisco on our website.

Go Storm II! Take them spinners down!
Thats good news Tim. I hope to see all there aswell, but without a robot.
Im still having some minor issues with booking the hotel and flight, but that should be solved tomorrow. Does anyone have an idea how i could enter the pits? or do i need to be signed in with a team?

Youll be coming home in a binbag then... Seriously, good luck and I think you have a really good chance at at least a podium finish.
*makes mental note of academy for potential future robot building assistance*
well done and good luck in usa
