what, no flippers ?
what, no flippers ?
What has this thing turned into?! I thought I was saying out my admeration to the Storm 2 designers, and now were talking about the machines most likely to win an event.
So Ill draw up my top 5:
1) THZ
2) Storm 2
3) Big Nipper
4) Turbulence
5) Kronic (How strong is that flipper?!)
Now I admit I was wrong about the scale of work that went into Storm 2.
Now I relise that the 2 best pieces of engineering are Terrorhurtz/Big Nipper!
PS: 5) Kronic (How strong is that flipper?) is an actual question.
Can someone give me an answer?
:sad:PLEASE:sad:
Kronics flipper is very strong
have a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oIE_DEzTiI
Kronic has one of the if not the most powerfull flipper in the live circuit today.
most money to have gone into a robot, storm-2 wins hands down...
Well as an investment in the sport it is not a bad ROI. Considering it was built in 2001 and still running.
The same can be said about Tough As Nails. It still goes after years of abuse.
Where did the money go in storm?
All that ti i spose........
or labour costs (Ed Tim not having a go jus mentioning) but Storm had quite a few parts made outside of the team aka titanium waterjet cut, i beleive the gears were machined by someone else also parts for the arm???? not sure thou one of the boys can correct me on that, that always takes a fair amount of dosh up,
you could look at other this example:- motors from a skip, speedcontroller home made for 30quid, hardox 120quid, gears 80quid, battieres 100quid radio 80quid wheels 130quid including tyre bonding
and thats a half decent amount for a fighting robot
540quid 100kg robot storms what another 0 on that
make that 2 zeros...
Speedcontrollers alone were 2000+ gbp (according to the storm site).
1 full day of setting op a cad thingy machine and 1 full day of work on the same machine... Thatll up the numbers...
What kind of speedos are they?!
