Yeah, this is my own tourny. Basically, in the fact I will not be doing US Vapous at ARC anymore, Ill have more time to update FFWS3, and in that spare time, I can also run my own tourny. And I didnt open this up for myself. Im mainly running this as a tribute to two of the most highly skilled vapouboteers who are most likley retiring after NSTT ends, and the first two I had the honor of meeting when I first came here.
Matt Fowler: He gave me FFWS3 temporarley until hes ungrounded, and so FFWS3 will still be happening thanks to him for giving me permission. Matt really had alot of great robots, and its going to be a shame when he leaves for good. Matt, if you ever read this, I hope you realize how much well all miss you.
Dave Sheppard: Dave was the first person I ever met on ARC, and beacuse of that, he definitly desrves a mention here, beacuse apparantly he is also retiring. I knew he must have been a great expert in robots when i read all his stats. In addition, hes proboblay one of the oldest running roboteers, if not THE oldest, and its a shame to see him go. Bye Dave, Well miss you.
    Now, onto the format:
I need 8 people to enter 8 vapours each. Note I said VAPOURS, not Real robots. No real robots will be allowed. Neither are flying robots or clusters. No flamethrowers either, and anything thats loose [chains, ropes, nets, etc.] are banned as well. However, anything else is welcome.
The format is this: Its divided into 4 brackets. North, SOuth, East, and West. Each one has 16 robots. Firstly, all 16 will be timed in a race to complete this arena [part one modeled after a bathroom, excuse me if you will, but I thoguht a vacuum acting like flushing would be intresting. :P]
Part one is simple enough. You will start on table. Just go forward and try to get into the scale model of the toilet powered by a vacuum. If you miss, go back up the ramp and try again until you land in it. fter that, you will be twirled around the slide, hitting sthe walls a few times thanksto the vacuums, and eventually be spat out at a breattaking rate into Part two...
Part 2s floor is covered with a light surface of oil. Combine this with the fatc you just came spirilaing out of the toilet model, and youve really got no control at all. You will be sent into one of 6 doors that lead to the next part. 5 are all 50cm hardox, but one is 0.1mm pexiglass, colored to blend in with the hardox. You have no idea whatll happen until you hit the door. Either youll take serious damage, or
youll break through the wall. If you hit a hardox wall, youll have to back up and try running itno another one again. THe thin surface of oil is enough so that you cant brake very well, and youll be sliding so you WILL be taking damage for each door you miss, though it wont be as painful as the first time you miss it.
Part 3: Now comes the crazy part. Big sottles of shampoo and bars of soap will start falling down on random areas, and at the end, a huge bolder will come after you, Indiana Jones style. Wont kill you, but WILL leave a mark. There is also a alternate way if your armor is weak or if youre slow. Its longer than taking the origonal path, though. At the ehdn of it, it drops you off near the exit of thsi aprt. Go down the steel full-pipe for the next part.
Part 4: This is a HUGE maze. Basically, very complicated maze. No description nessacary, but if you get too lost, you might bump into one of the house bots patrolling the area. After that, you better run and try to find the exit. Once you do find it, youll be in the final stage.
Part 5: Basically a GIANT ice covered hill, with a layer of oil to make controlling even harder. THe hill is very steep as well, so good luck having any form of control at all. Your salvation though, is that there are ramps along sevreal places. If youre tilted a bit as you move along the ramp, you will go fowards into that direction. Why do you care about this? Beacuse there are 13 pits at the end: If you hti any one of these you are finished with this long race. However, they all have diffrent numbers on them. Note that each one in a certian direction is the same number as the one in the parralell direction on the same numebr of spaces forwards.
[example: 1 and 13 have the same numbers, as do 2 and 12.] The numbers are:
    1,13: +60
    2,12: +55
    3,11: +50
    4,10: +45
    5,9: +30
    6,8: +0
    7: -30

Those numbers represent how mcuh time you will gain or lose form the time it took you to finish. If you landed in anything besides 6,7, or 8, then you get a penalty of the number of seconds that were on the number you landed in. 6 or 8 has no effect, and 7 takes 15 seconds off your final time.
Also, one more thing about this part: There is a big disc [unteethed, its there just to disorent a robot and its direction, not to do damage] in the middle of the area, spinning at 9000 RPM. Youll almost definitly be thrown off course if youre hit by this, so be careful.

Pictures of each part will be up shortly.
The 7 bots with the slowest time are eliminated. The next part will be a standard randomized brackets between 8 robots, the one who had the fastest time in the gauntlet getting a bye to face the winner of the 8-contestant tourny. The winner of that is the winner of the bracket, and once there is a winner for all 4, itll be a 2 round battle randomized between the 4 winners. [Playoff included] The winner of the final is the king of the wars!
And by the way,, the arena for all fights:
This arena is divided into three segments: Heaven, the Casino of Death, and Hell.
All robots start in the Casino of Death.
Casino of Death: There is a circle with 14 pit buttons, and a pit trigger for each one. They represent the symbols on a playing deck of cards, Ace through king including joker]
Heres the catch: The circle SPINS at a pretty good speed,[500 RPM to be exact] so if one is opened, you could be bait if you dont see it coming. The pits lead to the Hell area. Also, beware the drunken dart throwers, who may activate a pit trigger, or even hit your robot, leaving a dart stuck in it!
or deal some damage to you. Be careful of the iron roulette ball of death as well, [its not overly big as in cartoons, just think the size of a MW] which will likely crash into your robots electronics if it hits the top, or damage you good if it pushes you or runs over you if you have side skirts.
Also, be on the lookout for the cards, which will be thrown at the trigger to the slot machine trigger. It will deal out 3 random numbers from 1-5, if those equal 10 or less, then nothing happens, but a card may be thrown again later. But if they exceed 10, then beware, because the Housebot, Revolver, comes into play to do whatever he pleases to the death!
Also, the cards will fall on the ground after they are thrown, so they may be hard to get off if your robot isn€™t very maneuverable. Also, there€™s a poker button that activates if you hit it. A random hand of cards will pop up on a screen across from the arena. Roboteers, keep a eye on it, because if you get anything, the elevator leading to heaven will start going up. The better hand you get, the faster the elevator goes.
Dimensions of this arena: 200 feet by 150 feet.
Heaven area: This is a simple area with 2 house robots, The Hammer of the Law, and Shovearound 2. Heres the catch: It takes place OVER TOP OF THE CASINO OF DEATH ARENA! What€™s the OTHER catch then, you ask? There€™s an open area that leads back down to the casino of death. The drop WILL hurt though...
Also, be even MORE careful, because Hammer of the Law can make holes in this arena, its so powerful! If he hammers enough, you€™ve got another pit! Also, if your robot is pushed off and doesn€™t land in the casino of death, you lose by default; this makes Shovearound 2 feared here.
BEWARE the button hidden under a random part of the big metal sheet that your robot is on! If you hit it, then a panel opens up to make room for a claw carrying a saw blade to cut the chains that hang from the top of the building holding up the big metal sheet YOURE ON! You will go crashing back into the casino of death, or maybe out of the arena! The impact WILL be painful though. Ouch.
Dimensions of this arena: 37 and a half feet by 25 feet. Held on by chains, so it may get a little wiggly at times. By the by, its a 8 foot drop if you fall off.
Hell area: THIS is where the REAL hazards are. If you got here by the pit in the casino of death, then DAMN, it sucks to be you, mate.
    The hazards are:
THE CLAW!: The claw is the master, and it sure as hell doesn€™t want YOU to stay! If you get too close, it will follow you within its reach. If it catches you, it will grip you, pick you up, and then drop you. BEWARE of this, im telling you! That€™s a 10 foot drop right there! In the upper right corner.
THE SWEATSHOP BLADE: A huge saw [for its position, think the price is right wheel] spinning at over 5000 RPM with one hell of a lot of teeth. Its even been fired up beforehand, blazing at a temperature of over 600 degrees celcious. Sucks to be hit by it, eh? In the middle of the right side. Its about the size of the price is right wheel, too.
THE HALF GLOBE OF ALMIGHTY DEATH: Name pretty much says it. Its half a globe, but with lots of spikes inside. This spins at a very high RPM [about 2000 or so] and if you hit a spike enough times, say bye bye! A conveyer belt leads to the entrance of this, and once you€™re inside, The entrance doors close, meaning the only way out is to get tossed high enough so you can get out of the half globe. The walls aren€™t very high, however. About the size of a ant arena. Located in the bottom right corner.
THE CATAPUALT OF DECISION: If you get pushed onto the area of it, they will tighten up and a gumball machine outside of the arena will drop a ball into a plinko-like board with 3 sections. If it hits low, you wont take much damage. IF it hits medium, you€™ll be in for a wild ride, and possibly be thrown into the opened pit in the middle of the arena, guarded by sidewalls, but open in the top!
If it hits high, you€™ll be sent into the arena wall at about 22mph. BE PREPARED for some damage when you hit that thing. SPLAT! Oh, and the 5 foot or so drop may hurt too. Location: In the middle of the left side. [the conveyer anyways, the bowl is in a separate area, but is walled from all ends except the front, and the conveyer is easily traversed if its gone down from the other side, so once you€™re out of the bowl, you€™re safe]
THE TRAMPOLINE OF HELL: A trampoline, but with a magnetic like device pounding it, making it bounce. If you get pushed into this area, be careful not to get into the magnet zone, or your bot will be constantly slammed into the trampoline, making one nasty bounce every time. Eventually the magnet will let you go, however. If you€™re in any other area of the trampoline, its just some bounces. But if you€™re on the magnet and slammed into the trampoline enough times, it may break, sending you into the depths of hell when the magnet sets you loose!
Dimensions of this arena: 250 feet by 200 feet.
    So there you go.
Oh, and one more thing: Heavys only. Seeing as they are the most popular weightclass.
Thanks for reading all this. Signup, please?

    My first two robots.

    ORKA MK4
    Weight: 100 kilos
    Body Shape: Behemoth
    Speed: Some 15mph
    TC: 0
    GC: 2mm, 0mm at front.
    Wheels; 6 inner
    Armour; 7mm titanium
Power; 3x 12v batteries, powered by a couple of Magmotors
    Colour; Black with white patches
Weapons; A Behemoth like bucket scoop, made from titanium, and quite capable of lifting 300 kilos. It has a claw like device to grab an oppodent, like the claw on Mantis. The scoop is pnumatically powered, and has about 45 odd flips.
Srimech: It has a dorsal fin on top used for self-righting
Inspiration; Ive always liked Orcas. Adding the K made it sound more dangerous.
    Strengths; Weapon
    Weaknessess: Hard to turn

    LEPROSY INFECTION
    Weight; 100 kilos
    Body Shape; Tetanus Booster
    Speed; 18mph
    TC; 0
    GC; 2mm
Wheels; 4 inner, top sticking out. Wheel flaps are situated either side of the wheel to protect them.
    Armour; 7mm titanium
Power; 3x 12v batteries, powered by a couple of Magmotors
Colour; A disgusting shade of lime green.
Weapons; A very large, very dangerous vertical drum, capable of reaching speeds of 4000rpm. The teeth on the drum are curved upwards so they can flip as well as damage and very sharp at the tip. There is a reason for this...
Srimech; The robot is invertable. Bars along the side and back prevent stranding. The wheel flaps, both on top and bottom, are set so the robot can still run inverted without getting stranded. Once upside down, the teeth of the drum gouge out robot parts.
Inspiration; Named after the disease which causes the skin to flake and fingers and toes to drop off...namely because the robot does something similar. The basic idea came from an episode of The Simpsons.
Strengths; Drum, control is pretty good
Weaknessess; Wheels may be vulnerable to axes.

    Name: Manic Monsoon
    Weight: 100kg
    Armour: 5mm Hardox all over.
    Speed: Roughly 28mph
Shape: Box wedge with side skirts and rounded back.
Weapon 1: A linear actuator powered lifter running by a 4 bar system at 24v. This can lift 200kg easily.
Weapon 2: A small strip of Grade 5 Titanium on the front wedge, which gives 0mm ground clearance.
Strengths: Powerful drive and good strong weapon
Weaknesses: A bit too fast and hard to control when at full speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm on front and sides, 1cm at back.
Srimech: Invertible, but can self right using the lifter if wanted to.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 B42-500 MagMotors running at 60v. This gives Monsoon approx 60HP! The robot has a total of 6 wheels, 3 on each side. Each side is linked together by a set of heavy duty belts, giving 0m turning circle and the manoeuvrability of a 2 wheeled bot, and each wheel is coated in Vulcalon. The front wedge is angled at 42.5 degrees, meaning that it is not too steep or too shallow. The lifting arm is powered by a S28-150 MagMotor, and is made from 7075 Aluminium. The lifter itself can lift a total of 200kg, and can self right the robot if needs be. The side skirts are made from 4mm Titanium and are hinged.

    Name: Dallas D Squared
    Weight: 100kg
    Armour: 7mm Titanium Vanadium alloy
    Speed: 18mph
Shape: Teardrop shaped, with the point on the front and curve at the back.
Weapon 1: Front horizontal flywheel powered by 2 x 3120 Husqvarna chainsaws.
Strengths: Really strong armour and destructive weaponry.
    Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
Ground Clearance: 1mm at front, but 0mm elsewhere due to hinged skirts
    Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-300 MagMotors running at 24v. This gives roughly 18mph top speeds. The main weapon is a front horizontal flywheel, which is powered by 2 3120 Husqvarna chainsaws. The chainsaws are on a 4:1 reduction, which means the flywheel can spin at 2687.5RPM. The flywheel itself is modelled on Shell Shocks axe from Series 3 of Robot Wars, and weighs a total of 18.5kg. According to Team Cosmics Kinetic Energy Calculator, it can produce roughly 11kJ per hit. The skirts are made from light aerospace grade aluminium and are 3mm thick. This, combined with superb manoeuvrability and strong armouring, should make Dallas a hard bot to crack.

    Name: Dervish \//
    Weight: 100kg
Armour: 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that to protect electronics.
    Speed: 18mph
    Shape: Invertible cylinder, like Barberous
Weapon 1: Spinning body which spins upwards, so it can flip its opponents.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and very manoeuvrable
    Weaknesses: Exposed wheels.
    Ground Clearance: 7mm all around
    Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-150 MagMotors, giving the robot a top speed of 18mph. Both wheels are based around Stinger, but have Vulcalore trims to aid in traction. The spinning body is made from 10mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, with 5mm Lexiguard inside that. The spinning body has Carbon tipped blades and Grade 5 Titanium blades attached all over it, so it can destroy all matters of armour. The body itself is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v. This means the drum spins at approx 2500RPM. This should be enough power to destroy a robot in a matter of seconds.

Name: Wheely Pure Evil 2 (Thanks to Aaron for flipper rams and armour)
    Weight: 100kg
Armour: 6mm Aluminium Boron Carbite (slightly heavier than Aluminium, but harder than Tungsten)
    Speed: 18mph
    Shape: Low invertible wedge
Weapon 1: Top hinged flipper powered by a 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on top of the robot. At the bottom of the flipper there is a 5mm Grade 5 Titanium wedge extender, designed to get under any ground clearance.
Weapon 2: Top hinged flipper powered by an 80mm pneumatic ram, working at 1000psi fixed on the underside of the robot.
Strengths: Powerful weaponry and tough armour.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and limited CO2 on board.
Ground Clearance: 1cm at the back, 0mm on sides due to side skirts and 0mm at front due to flipping plate.
    Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 S28-400 MagMotors running at 24v, which give 18mph top speed. The flippers are made from 4mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and powered by 80mm pneumatic rams working at 1000psi due to Nitrogen. Each flipper can flip roughly 2500kg each. However, due to the flipper set up, the robot can flip roughly 5000kg! The robot has hinged side skirts, to stop robot getting underneath. The skirts are made from 3mm Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are hinged so they run upside down. The flippers can be fired at the same time, or independently.

    Name: Sonic Boom
    Weight: 100kg
Armour: 1cm thick Hardox wheel hubs, 5mm Hardox axe head and 5mm thick axe pole. The axle joining the 2 wheels is made from 6mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy.
    Speed: 28mph.
Shape: The robot is an axlebot based around Stinger.
Weapon 1: A momentum powered axe, which can come down with 800kgs of force.
Strengths: Hard to grab hold off and very tough armour. Great manoeuvrability.
    Weaknesses: Poor pushing power.
    Ground Clearance: 10mm.
    Srimech: The robot is invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s, giving 28mph top speeds. The wheels are made from aircraft grade Aluminium, with Hardox wheel hubs and thick rubber treads. All the electronics, batteries and wiring are hidden inside the wheels. The 1cm thick wheel hubs should mean that nothing can damage the innards of Sonic Boom. To save weight on the robot, the wheels are only 20cm high, but are also 20cm wide, increasing traction on the arena floor. The axe head is modelled on Stingers axe from series 4 of Robot Wars, but is a lot tougher due to the 50cm, 5mm Hardox axe pole and 5mm Hardox axe head. The axe is momentum powered, meaning that when the robot stops moving from a charge, the axe swings over head and hits what ever is in front of it. This method of weaponry is not accurate most of the time, but when it does hit, it can cause a lot of damage. The 10mm ground clearance all over the robot should stop it getting stuck on arena obstacles.

    Name: RingMaster
    Weight: 100kg
Armour: 5mm Grade 5 Titanium hoop, 6mm LexiGuard top and bottom.
    Speed: 20mph.
    Shape: Invertible cylinder ala Gyrobot
Weapon 1: A large 2m diameter spinning hoop weighing a total of ~30kg. It has 8 large steel teeth covering it designed to cause damage.
Strengths: 360 degree offence and defence. Very durable and nippy.
Weaknesses: Exposed wheels on top and very boring
    Ground Clearance: 5mm all over.
    Srimech: Invertible
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM130 Lynch Motors running at 36v, giving 20mph top speed and roughly 18HP. The robot uses Vulcalore wheels to gain extra traction on the arena floor, so if the spinner stops, the robot can act as a powerful pusher. The spinner is powered by a LEM130 motor at 36v, and spins the spinner at a safe 1000RPM. This means the robot can hit with a force of just over 80Kj. So the robot does not self destruct on impact with its opponent, the chassis has been dramatically strengthened by using lots of Ti/V alloy triangles. In total, the chassis weighs 18kg. Also, the electronics, batteries and motors inside the robot have been braced and covered in compound rubber, designed to absorb the shocks when hitting an opponent.

    Name: The Deflesher
    Weight: 100kg
    Armour: 6mm Aluminium
    Speed: 20mph
Shape: Invertible box that is wider than it is long.
Weapon 1: A reversed horizontal crusher. See Notes.
Strengths: Very cool weaponry, potential to be devestating.
Weaknesses: Untested weapon and exposed wheels on top.
Ground Clearance: 3mm at front. 0mm at sides and rear due to skirts.
    Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 LEM 130s running at 36v. Each of the 4 wheels is coated in Vulcalore, to aid in traction. The main weapon is the reversed horizontal crusher, which forms a spike at the front of the robot. When the spike goes in, the robot will push the opponent into the arena wall. Once the opponent has been cornered, the crusher arms are activated hydraulically on 5000psi to open outwards. The arms are made from Aluminium Boron Carbite, and are reinforced with Titanium and Steel. The front spike which is formed by the 2 crushers is made from Hardox, with a diamond coated tip. The force when the claws are moved apart from each other should be able to make the damage greater so the claws can get in deeper into the electronics. The side and rear skirts are hinged, and are made from 4mm Titanium.

Name: Supreme Glory Gamma (Replacing Supreme Glory Beta)
    Weight: 100kg
Armour: 20mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound
    Speed: 8mph
    Shape: Pyramid shaped
Weapon 1: An 11kg Aluminium alloy axe powered by a 60v Etek, capable of generating 3Kj of force per hit.
Strengths: Strong armour and very manoeuvrable.
Weaknesses: Axe only works if something is in front or behind the robot.
Ground Clearance: 0mm all around due to skirts.
Srimech: The axe self rights the robot.
Notes: The robot is powered by 2 x 800watt 36v DC motors giving 8mph top speed. The 2 wheels are made from Ti/V alloy and coated in Vulcalore to aid in traction. The robot is covered in 25mm Lexan and LexiGuard compound. The axe weighs a total of 11kg and is shaped like Excaliburs axe from series 3 of Robot Wars. This shape is designed to focus all the force on a single point, meaning it can pierce through armour easily. The axe can give 3Kj of force per hit, roughly the same as Beta. The tips of the axe are covered in a thin layer of carbon, so if it fights a robot with Titanium armour, it can get through the armour even easier. To stop the robot from hopping about when the axe is fired, the robot incorporates a vacuum system. This can be switched on and off during a battle to allow for manoeuvrability and superior traction when static. The skirts on SGG are made from Grade 5 Titanium and are held in place by hinges.
