Thread: FRA Royal Robot Rumble: 30 enter, 1 leaves

  1. #1
    Hi everyone

This is not a tournement, this is a one off battle. For those that are familier with the WWE Royal Rumble, this wont need explaining, but for those that are not, let me explain:

You each enter 1 vapourbot robot each, 30 competitors allowed. 2 robots start in the arena, and after 1 and 1/2 minutes, another robot joins in. To win the Royal Rumble, simply eliminate your oppoent, by either immobilising it, Throwing it out of the ring, or throwing it down the pit. There are no House Robots for this. The weight limit will be raised to 120kg for extra batteries, as this fight is a long one. Once all 30 robots have entered the rumble, then the last robot standing is declared the winner. There is currently a real RW Royal Rumble fight in the writing, involving 30 robots from series 6 and 7.

    Place your entrants now:
Note: Placement number is not decided on what order you submit a robot: IE: the first robot to be submitted will not be the first in the arena.

The Robot Wars Royal Rumble will be up soon

    Ill enter with MORD.

    M.O.R.D (MASTER OF ROBOT DESTRUCTION)
Weight: 104kg (normally 98kg, but extra batteries put on)
Shape: Its body is a box tilted at an angle because the front wheels are larger than the rear ones - its like Intraverter from Robotica if youve ever seen that, or Backlash with wheels instead of claws holding it up. On the sides are extra plates giving the wheels some side protection. At the front is the flywheel, and in front of the flywheel is the scoop, operated by rods going into the robot.
    Dimensions: 85 x 30 x 15/45 (lowest/highest)
    Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to scoop, 200mm behind scoop on either side of flywheel, 50mm under flywheel, 1mm-5mm at sides, 0 at back due to skirt, 1mm behind skirt
Armour: Body and wheel guards are 4mm titanium
Wheels: 4, inside robot, stick out the top so the robot can run inverted. The front wheels have no motors - they are turned by cords attached to the back wheels, like a skid steer system. Because the front wheels are larger than the rear ones to tilt the robot up, they have a high ground clearance at the front, so plates are welded onto the robots sides to protect them and lower the ground clearance.
    Power: 24V battery and motors
Weapon: At the front is a titanium scoop which operates through 180 degrees, so it can work when the robot is upside down. Behind the scoop is a 10kg vertical spinning flywheel, spinning at 2000rpm, which comes into play if the scoop is lifted.
Srimech: Invertable; screws tapped into sides keep it from resting there
Tactics: Shove opponents with the scoop, then lift the scoop and attack with the flywheel
Strengths: Fast and manouverable; powerful flywheel
Weaknesses: Hard to control; can be flipped from sides

You interested in entering VFT5 BTW, Dave? Theres one place left.
