ESC I would suggest a tz 85a, modded to work with brushed motors, light, cheap (if you mod them yourselves) rock solid and populer.

When it comes to batteries use the drill ones for now, and learn a bit more about Lipo's from other threads

Hey there, welcome to the forum!

Are these drill motors brushed (so the motor only has positive and negative wires for them) or brushless (so the motor has three wires coming out of them)? As mentioned, if you can get a hold of some TZ85As (https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...w-5a-sbec.html), they are the ones to get at the moment.

both off those ESC are brushless (3 motor wires) i don't know if the could be modded, Ranglebox (Ellis shop) has 3 tz 85a in stock, they are pre modded and are ready to go.

I think, off the top of my head, the 12A Plush can be modified to run brushed, not sure about the higher amperages. If you are not confident in reprogramming speed controllers like this, then yeah, the pre-modded option would be the way to go on this.

If you're willing to wait a week or so, the new FeatherTwo ESCs should be back in stock.

IBF 4.2 or 4.5 fits the bill perfectly.
