Most teams seem to be planning on building a new robot if any FC (Full Combat) events go ahead. I'd imagine current robots wouldn't be modified as taking on FC is something you need in your mind building the robot from the ground up and they wouldn't have the weight to 're-armour'.

Also the robots on the original series are very far from what would be considered 'heavily armoured' these days.

If there would be Full Combat heavy fights, most teams would go for 1 big event a year. More would be to costly for most teams.

On the other hand, the current non spinner heavy fights ain't nice to the machines either and it's a great testing ground to see if the idea's work out in reality.

No current uk heavyweights would last well against a "modern" spinner.

I think (with a little modification) Cherub would do OK, as the armour on the front is up to 8mm thick steel armour plate! the rest is at least 5mm with sloping sides. It has been designed to withstand 3 minuets of Thor or Tiberius.

Thats probably the bare minimum id recommend having seen tombstone cut a 2inch square hole through a 1/4" grade 5 titanium panel... which doctors front wedge was 1/4" hardox that was rubber mounted, and that got pretty buggered also...baring in mind, it wouldn't be hard to make a spinner with a bigger impact than tombstone.
