Thread: Solid core bungee

  1. #1
I figure you guys are the bungee experts, so here's a question!

Finally managed to get my flippers bungee snapping under control by tripling the length and increasing the radius that it bends around. But no doubt using the bargain hardware store cord is at least half the problem.

A mate that works in the huge open cut mine here sent me a few meters of the industrial stuff they use, and interestingly enough, instead of a bunch of individual strands it has a solid black core with what feels to be about twice the spring rate with the same elongation, plus the polyester sheath looks about twice as "dense" as the cheap stuff.

Anyone tried that stuff yet and care to comment on if its any better than the usual stuff? At the world champs it seemed like most people were using the multi-core cord but i didn't get much of a chance to have a proper look

    Cheers!
