New site has gone live. It went up at 10pm last night but some people's ISP's taking their time to re new - you may need to refresh the pages/cache (Hold Ctrl and press F5) - few peoples computers are storing the older style/pages. information page of the event is here - http://www.kinematicevents.com/UKChampsFRA2015.php
Teams can sign up to the new CRDB to create their team profile then you can sign up to events such as the FRA Champs. Coming very soon you'll be able to create robot profiles etc - more details on the portal - http://www.kinematicevents.com/roboteersSignUp.php

After say 2 weeks, we'll make the list public of whos signed up and start getting a feel of a competition/day format.

Yep sure thing. Sign ups close on the 25th October and it would be best to then finalised the entries by end of October with a competition/day format that everyone is happy with giving us all of November to plan and dish out the details.

Sign ups are currently for teams and number of robots. You don't need any robot details.

I've duly signed up - given I only really do antweights, and the entire beetle project only came about as a result of being asked at 10pm if I wanted any lasercutting done, this may get interesting...

The signup page does state FRA rules are being used, but then states axes, pneumatic robots, and spinners need removable links - does that mean passive robots don't or do the FRA rules prevail?

At present the FRA rules do not state beetle weights need removable links and locking bars for weapons, though i am advised they are due to be updated soon, but may not be for 2015, but ready for the 2016 season.

However Kinematic Events are enforcing that removable links and locking bars are needed for weapons such as axes, pneumatic robots, and spinners. I would prefer all beetle weights to have removable links, but since the FRA rules have not been updated as of yet, we will relax the rule to passive robots. But i have a feeling next year - all beetle weights will need a removable link. You do however still need a cradle and sharp edge protection.
