Hi all,

A new venture is kicking off to tour around a select few pubs and restaurants by Greene King (Hungry Horse pubs) hosted by a Kinematic Events. Most of the events will be pay to battle side show events for the public, but at a select few events we can invite teams to take part in a full combat competition.

We are currently finishing off an arena for beetle weights. 10mm side poly walls, 3mm steel floor and inner wall. 6mm poly roof. 3m by 3m by 2m high. Along with the extras such as pit and other effects along with pay to battle beetle weight robot fleet & house robot.

We would like to invite you to our first event that will be at the Bradmore Arms Hungry Horse Pub in Wolverhampton. We will be running a full combat competition, with a trophy and prizes. The event will run between 12:30pm & 5pm – though roboteers will need to be unloaded and ready for 11:30am.

Sign ups are now live to Beetle Weight robots to take part in a full combat competition – or just fun friendly battles to practise/test your creations.;

Roboteers are welcome to bring any other robots with them for display purposes.
We will be emailing info packs on the 16th of February evening, so if you don’t hear from us after signing up online, then please do get in touch. Also roboteers will be able to benefit from discounts at the pub on the day ;-)

We'll be there with 3 beetles. I've had time to refine the spinners since last year so really looking forward to giving them a run out.

Plus it's an event in a pub which is perfect for students

Not got any beetles working at the mo and it's a wee bit far with a jaunt to Brum in April already lined up, but hope it goes well. And just worth mentioning that there is a Hungry Horse pub just outside Glasgow

Hey Jamie - very very very early days, but I hear rumours in our camps that we are being asked to "tour" for 5 days in Scotland around Glasgow - so never know :P

Thanks to Ellis, Anvil is dead and we are struggling to find thin enough Ti-5 rods to weld up Susan so it might be a while before we come to an event. My under-cutter might make an appearance at some point if I can get to a location though.

I can't wait to see your Pay-to-Drive bots! The CAD models look great and I am excited about a new larger arena too.

Suppose I should get some Beetleweights up and running too then, working at a college has given me access to all sorts of engineering goodies! The nearest Hungry Horse in Glasgow is about 10 mins walk from my house too, so no excuses really...

Oh my god just got dead excited reading this, might see if I can build one inside of a fortnight and sign up! Been waiting for an excuse to build a beetle!
