Twitch examined the object that was returned to him for a moment, wondering how it could have been turned from a simple magnet on a string into...whatever this was. It seemed like it might fit one of his claws, so - with one or two attempts, his lack of hands was really starting to irritate him - he strapped the magnet thing onto his leg. There would be time for him to break it in later on, but for now, he decided to return to the rest of the group.

After a little more meandering through some suspiciously well-maintained corridors, Twitch arrived at the room which held Eudial, Anjy and the Professor. "When did Vengy get back?" he asked as he appeared in the doorway, looking increasingly like a cyborg each time the rest of the group saw him with a new item.

Now back at the castle Gaunt was surprised to see any of the others around, but headed back to the item room nonetheless. He considered some of the other items he had and after some thought, pulled out the brimstone aftershave and placed it in the machine and pressed the P button.

The Aftershave looks exactly the same as before, but appears to have had some exotic pheromones added - to the point where any half plausible disguise worn will seem exponentially more real to those addressing you. Generally speaking, you at least need to be approximately the right shape for it to work. So Leland with a bit of preparation could pass for any human shaped humanoid.

It doesn't work to disguise yourself as a specific individual that the person you are trying to fool knows, but can easily work to appear as different species, ethnicity, age, gender etc

An entire race of all-conquering authoritarian Boy Scouts? Good lord, it's the late 80s all over again.

    Titanicman:
According to reports made by famed journalist Sally Streater, the 10 most recent Titanicman conflicts were as follows:

12 hours ago: Defeated a gang of Balrogs who were selling the infamous drug "Pipeweed" to children.
2 Days ago: Stopped the infamous Ballet themed bankrobber "The Nutcracker"
2 Days ago: Fought some dinosaurs. No clear reason.
5 Days ago: Teamed up with Fleems the Moonfox to defeat Mecha-Titanicman
6 Days ago: Fought Mecha-Titanicman, but retreated to keep civilians safe
12 Days ago: Rescued Sally Streater from Felix Fairlynasty, renowned Evil Industrialist
14 Days ago: Punched some ghosts on the moon. This was the occassion where no Rift energy was detected.
15 Days ago: Fought a Fairlynasty Industries Flying Robot hit squad with Pentraxianite gun.
15-18 Days ago: Teamed up with numerous heroes to push back an invasion of the Antelope-men of Dimension-Antelope.
21 Days ago: Had a misunderstanding-then-teamup battle with Fleems the Moonfox.
Well, he's been a busy boy, our Titanicman, no question there.

Anjushree (and you too, George, I know you can hear me), give me anything you can on Sally Streater, Felix Fairlynasty, Fleems the Moonfox, Mecha-Titanicman and the Nutcracker. The more we can gleam from his friends and foes, the more I'll be able to sense whether or not his heroics are truly sincere.

Plus, the more dirty tricks we can learn to use against him in a punch-up. "Know thy enemy" and all that.

    Sally Streater
    Species: Halfling
The most successful investigative reporter in New Melded, she made her career through hard hitting journalism combined with articles about Titanicman which were a bit less hard hitting. Gets rescued by Titanicman on average once every 8 or so days.
Contact Details at the Melded News-Hawk provided.

    Felix Fairlynasty
    Species: Half-Kryptonian
Successful businessman and owner of Fairlynasty Industries. He has made a reputation as one of the top Evil Businessmen in the cities, despite his heritage which has given him only half the strength of powers of a normal Kryptonian. He has attempted to kill the Titanicman on a number of occassions, citing that Pentraxians are by Pan-universal law a Kill-on-sight species. However, since the great war, no one has done this.
Contact details for Fairlynasty Industries are provided.

    Fleems the Moonfox
    Species: Moonfox
Moonfoxes resemble huge pure white foxes that vary in size with the phase of the moon, starting at a normal fox at a new moon to the size of a horse at a full moon. They are a spiritual creature which wander down off remote mountaintops one day with no sign previously. They are highly intelligent, can talk, heal wounds quickly and can fire a devastating "moon-beam" from their mouth. Fleems personally is particularly powerful as a Moonfox and has been hunting some unknown supernatural threat since his arrival in Melded.
No contact details provided, but the Castle can probably locate him.

    Mecha-Titanicman
    Species: Cyborg Pentraxian Clone
An elaborate experiment in several meta-heroic laws of nature - there is a demonstrable rule of the universe whereby a hero will be reborn after dying at a rate dependent on the stature of the hero. Therefore, when Titanicman died standing against an otherwordly horror, Felix Fairlynasty quickly cloned him in an attempt to "block" his ressurection by filling the universal role with this clone. This is actually entirely scientifically sound, and it worked for a while. However, it didn't account for the fact that identical clones ALWAYS (as another fundemental rule of the universe) end up the opposite alignment as the original. After this happened, the role was no longer filled and the original Titanicman returned in an incredibly contrived set of circumstances. After he got beaten up, he got some cybernetic enhancements and went rogue and became a reccuring foe of Titanicman.
    Currently in "The Eggshell" Prison

    The Nutcracker
Species: Human possessed by the Spirit of Ballet
No one knows how this came about, but the Nutcracker uses the incredibly physical prowess learnt through Ballet to rob banks in an aim to be able to fund increasingly extravagant ballets. Is often stopped by Titanicman.

"It says the Sally woman gets tangled up with Tighty every eight days," Twitch postulated, reading through the list of those mentioned in Titanicman's recent escapades. "And it's been twelve days since it last happened...she's bound to run into him soon!" the parrot told the others. "Hey, if she's a journalist," he added, "maybe she knows how Tighty ended up with the rift stuff!" It was quite the mouthful, 'Titanicman'. Plus Twitch doubted how titanic Titanicman really was. Tighty would do for now.

..."Tighty"? Okay this is too much. Eudial glared at the macaw. "Are you that mentally challenged that you can't properly say a person's name correctly more than once or twice?" she snarled. "Or do you find it amusing to annoy people (or whatever species)? Because, between this and appearing in front of my face almost every 15 minutes, you're really beginning to piss me off."

    Her eyes blazed, almost literally.

(OOC: There you go, Nick. Gave you what you want and addressed your own annoyingness. :P)

    AURELIA

Meader takes a phone call from the police, and his already droopy face drops.

"The police have done their work, but they say there is nothing to do there... as I said there is no sign of forced entry, but they believe the thief exited through some air-vents that can only be opened from the inside... all they have to go on were some wet humanoid footprints with a trace of magic that appeared near my desk and went straight to the required shelves.

Perhaps your Griffon friend or the big computer here might be able to help me, they are certainly a lot more well equipped than Melded's infamously underfunded police"

Gaunt grabbed the newly enhanced aftershave and got ready to leave. As he exited the room he could faintly hear someone from another room some ways off. He contemplated heading in that direction to see what was going on, but quickly decided he didn't really care. There were more important things to do, like finally getting down to business with Ms. Triblos.

"Off to her company headquarters S’il vous plaît," Gaunt said.

    GAUNT

George teleports Leland to the headquarters of Triablos industries. The building looks to be undergoing extensive reconstruction - old architecture constructed from demonic flesh is being replaced with modern steel and glass open plan office space.
