Thread: Question about a glow rather than an led!

    It needs to be clear that the light is on when active. I've seen a few machines use LED strip lights effectively for this. You need to ensure that the LED can be visible from the outside, but this does not mean buried in the bottom of the machine and you can only just see it. You should not have a problem to drill a hole and stick an LED into it to be sure.

    6.4 Power Light
    All Featherweights, Lightweights, Middleweights, Heavyweights and Super Heavy Weights, must have at
    least one surface mounted non-filament power light that is illuminated when power is supplied to the robot
    (i.e. when the link is in). The power light can be any colour but must be non-flashing and be in contrast with
    it's surroundings.

    It should be directly viewable. It's hard enough to see in the arena with all the coloured lights for the show, never mind worrying whether the reflection is coming from.
