This was posted on the internet yesterday.

It's long but it's pretty interesting.

This is just awesome. THANK YOU for posting.

I am now officially, old. (39) but I remember my dad who was at Aston Uni coming home and telling me about all this stuff years before the first contest actually took place. His colleagues at Aston were stoked about the idea, and he used to come home with new stories about what ideas in both the USA and unrealised here in The UK were being talked about.

From that day onwards, I wanted in. I missed-out on news of any events after the first one in The States, until Robot Wars hit our own screens.

Due to life happening its own way without asking me first, it's taken this long to have the chance to get involved.

Thanks for a major trip down memory lane.

Awesome, haven't got the time to read but really looking forward to my pre bed ipad session.
I remember first hearing robot combat on CBBC newsround I think in 96 or 97 and seeing 'The Mouse' knocking over chairs.

A good summary, if you want all the detail, read Gearheads. Covers everything from the conception, to the end, and the massive Battlebots Vs Robot Wars legal battles in between. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gearheads-Tu...ords=gearheads
