so after 3 years i got the old girl back. I am waiting for a few more original parts to arrive such as weapon gearbox and frame.
taking the easy option, wrap it all up send it away for rebuilding, as fabrication for spinners were always past me. I want to keep it with the same look,but evolve it to move with the times, basically just better and more power, initial plan is to go brushless with lipo's.

its first outing will be robochallenge next event, this is the current full time project, will add more pics as it progresses.

all parts have now arrived, just ordered brushless motor and speed controller from hobbyking, then shipping everything to mario for sum fabrication work.

also ordered lipo's and charger, next update will be weapon test, already salvaged an old microwave from work to test it out on.

i cant get over the weight saving going brushless with lipos, lots and lots of extra armour me thinks!

Prodigy evo mk2 has now arrived with Mario. brushless motor, speedo, lipo's and charger sorted.
So far it has been a case of organising parts, the disk has been modifed to take a 20mm shaft with new bushes and bearings, replacing the original 15mm.
The shape will change it will b a lot shorter than it was, pics will follow as the rebuild progresses. It will be finished early December to coinside with its first competition before end of year.

New pulley and arches fitted in Hardox and steel.

Brushless motor Magnets are glued in with epoxy, the axle is turned around and supported on both sides.

Weight, with LiPo, drivetrain and brushless speedo, 8.3 kg.

looking forward for it finished, and do some tests, good work mario!

Be interesting to see how well it spins up, that ratio might be a bit optimistic for that weight of disc and motor combo, You done a spin up test yet?
