Unfortunately, the makers of
Robot Wars have decided not to make any more series of Robot Wars.
However, repeats of the programme will still be shown at various times and
on various TV channels all across the world. Robot Wars is no more, so
if you want to continue to see battling robots, you have to come to a live
event.
The sport of robotic combat
is not dead. In fact it is alive and well. Live events happen nearly
every week all across the world. Many of these events include robots and
roboteers from TV shows like Robot Wars,
Battlebots and Robotica. And of course, these events have many tournaments
and robotic competitions of robots fighting each other in a battle arena.
Some events even let you "pay to drive" a robot! All these
events are open to the general public to come along and see all the mayhem
and witness all the action in the arena first hand. Some events are free
to see, others you have to pre-book tickets or buy tickets on the door.
All details including prices, when and where each event is and directions
on how to get there are included in the below websites.
Roboteers and event organisers
organise many live events which contain
many robots in various weight classifications all fighting each other in a battle purpose arena. A live
audience can be there to witness these excellent, fun-filled events which
are carrying the sport of Robotic Combat into the future. Certainly
something not to miss!
Live robotic
combat events happen very regularly (as much as every weekend) and not
just in the UK, but all across the world too.
Many events contain robots
from the TV shows like "Robot Wars" and there are a lot of new
robots coming into the sport. Currently very popular are the
featherweights which are a good size robot to build if you are new to
building these deadly machines. Featherweights (12kg) can be easier and
cheaper to build than heavyweights (100kg) and you can still get the same
amount of fun from a feather as you can from a heavyweight.

These
events are organised in association with the FRA (The Fighting
Robot Association)
who are governing the sport of robotic combat, setting all the
rules and making sure robots are built safely following their
guidelines. The FRA is setting the standards of the sport and
carrying it into the future. |

Forum is a great source of information and news regarding everything
to do with the world of robotic combat including all you need to know
