So tidied up the wiring enough to allow

Interesting how it gets the motors to chirp initially. Some ESC's also want to see some stick movement before going through this procedure

A bit of test driving and ramping, seems to have enough power.
I have changed the start to be as soft as possible by programming the ESC. It looks a little twitchy but no more than the speed 900's

Looks promising, well done

Well, Spur II has been on a diet
It was going well
It lost 4 Gibson motors and a 4mm mild steel baseplate
Whilst my back was turned though it sneaked out and ate 2 DeWut's
To finish the job off there will be a dessert of 3.2mm hardox base and chain driven wheels

I guess Christmas will show if it also swallows a brushless motor for a bit of fun :)
-
I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it going to be 4wd?
-
Not obvious from the photo but it will be 4 wheel drive.
Wheel mounted directly on the DeWut with the other wheel chain driven from it
-
The Dewuts look like a nice bit of kit :)

Yep. I can almost guarantee that every fight a Gimson motor would give up. If it gave up early enough then another would follow
Only way for the motors to survive was to reduce throttle travel. As this is partly (mainly) a rambot then wasnt really what you wanted. Not expecting to kill the DeWuts too often :)

Hey Chris, are you able to get more footage of testing the Alien motors? I can't gather much from the ones you put up before and with the champs around the corner it's crunch time. Do they start up together, or does one get going ahead of the other? What's torque like? Is it possible to drive in a straight line or is the control too hit and miss?
Really need hands-on reports!
Cheers.

Well the timing is handy. Its been fully stripped down as I've changed the internal packaging considerably to accommodate the linear actuator in place of the DeWut for lifting. Today is the first day its been back together and the motors have been run up
I'll get some videos :)
Did you buy any, every time I check they are saying out of stock?
-
The motors themselves seem to be out of stock on the website, but they're doing something here: http://alienpowersystem.com/shop/ser...nsors-service/
I'm not sure if this replaces the existing lot of sensored outrunners, or if it's an aside to... but they seem to be in stock if that helps!
