i have to wait till february!!!!!!:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:
Not really. You get a taster on Jan 11 when the middleweight Typhoon fights Phoenix and Steel Sandwich.
true, very true
so are u building a middleweight john? or are u moving into the heavys or feathers?
its a shame that voodoo child wasnt allowed in
Gary Typoon looks good according to the report in the club mag, cant wait to see a really effective FBS for once...
Cheers, Ewan
thanks ewan
i was hoping to see the first mini maul but it never made it to rbw
so wot are u up to at the moment?
Oh me, Im up to whats on my profile pic:)
Cheers, Ewan
(P.S. Thats meant to go on a featherweight:))
hmmmmmmmm heres an idea, why dont u put more weight to the outside of the bar?
this gives u greater enursha(crap spelling i know). basically it means that when it would hit u it would do more damage. thats wot makes our disc design good - the fact that 2/3 of the weight of the disc is on the outside
I know, but seeing as the bar is directly mounted to the motor, I dont want a long spin up time.
More enirtia (rubbish spelling)= longer spin up time. This spinner can go with a 185mph tip speed!
with only a two-three second spin-up time. The blades are rather sharp and can make a gash, 5cm long, in 5mm polycarb.
fair nuf
personnally i think its better to give a short sharp shock instead of cutting through armour
but then it depends if u want visual or internal damage
Are you guys trying to say inertia? ;)
Suppose so... still the blades are 5cm long
(to Frank) inertia... Thats the one:)
cheers frank!
everyone on here is so helpful
Hmm, I wonder why the Typhoon builder posted the first thread here? I hope that you do very well this year :D
I so cant wait for this heat. Hope that we see some juicy spinner action from the Typhoon guys!
Hmm, again a heat with a Dutch machine in it. Hammerhead. The first robot with the solid mounted ram ,and seperate not connected flipper.
Not entirely thesame idea as Gravity, but the example I used to create the Gravity/Flip system.
Armor on some places is up to 30mm double layer polycarb. lets predict that entry.
Oh,and a trivial bit of info: Hammerhead qualified with supernova in the arena.
But not quite undamaged Mario ;)
I might be unable to view this heat when Im in Tenerife, but well see :proud:
Yeah i think that Bigger Brother will win this heat.
I might as well post my prediction before I go on my hols to Tenerife on Friday Febuary 6th.
Bigger Brother (4): Theyll stroll this (unless theres a suprise)
URO: Unidentified Rotating Object? Must be.
Typhoon 2: Heat final, but they could cause a suprise.
Colossus: Back for more punishment are we? They wont get past Round 1 again.
Disconstrictor (or is it Disconstructor)?: Must be a fairly destructiv machine.
Xenomorph: Is this from Denbigh High School as theyve built a few Robot Wars with this name? Lets hope this machine aint pug ugly.
Hammerhead 2: Must be all the way from Holland. Possibly Round 2.
Iron Awe 2.1: After what I heard before the Axe Attack fight, I dont think theyve got a hope in high heaven.
HOT TIPS: Bigger Brother & Typhoon 2
Gotta be Bigger Brother, but like I said, Typhoon could cause a suprise.
I think Typhoon will win. It would be imposssible for Bigger Brother to approach Typhoon, get underneath and flip him over, when all the while he is spinning at full throttle, without getting damaged in the process.
And DONT bring Raging Reality into the subject; they only flipped Typhoon cos Kan Opener stopped the spinning.
Please, however, I know no spoilers. Even if I did, I wouldnt reveal them on purpose.
Its Disconstructor, and it is a fairly destructive machine, as long as the teeth stay attached to the disc. Id put my money on Bigger Brother though.
Just remember that Bigger Brother has a very good track record against Spinners... they can take massive punishment and still go on to win (Hypnodisc), and in Battlebots they destroyed Gammatron and took out one of the most powerful of all full body spinners, mauler, without taking any damage.
Yeah, but think of it this way.
Hypno-disc-Body to get hold of, vaguely reliable, fast spinner.
Mauler-No body, faster (if not deadlier) spinner, but not reliable (it trashed Killerhurtz once, tore its axe and plough off, then ran over the kill-saws and broke down!)
Typhoon-very fast disc, no body, reliable. Plus, Typhoons teeth are lower to the ground than Hypno-discs, or Maulers.
Ill pick Typhoon 2 cos its cool!
Mauler is pretty reliable, for one thing it always spins and never is motionless, it just gets flipped by really big hits. Big brother beat it not because mauler broke down but simply using a ramming/flipping combo.
I dont doubt any spinners potential, but considering the way Big Brother usually deals with spinners, it should win.
How did Bigger Brother beat Mauler in the USA? I know the answer, if you want to find out for yourself, go to http://www.battlebots.comwww.battlebots.com and search under Bigger Brother & check out the video of their match against Mauler. But if you want it from my view, Mauler hit Bigger Brother, it was deflected onto the kill saws, the saw sliced at one of Maulers blades, the robot became very unstable and it flipped itself over breaking the forces of gravity.
And before you question me, Yes, I HAVE seen Mauler in action. Didnt it cause a Battlebots shock and tear a wheel off hot favourites Nightmare? Cos thats what I saw.
cheers Matt :)
Yeah i remember that too Chris. That was a big shock at the time. In fact, i believe its the only time ive ever seen Mauler win. Theres no question that Typhoon is better engineered than Mauler.
Typhoon may be a good machine, but I find it amusing that you under estimate the Mauler Team. I have spoke with them on several occasions via e-mail, they are good fun and the machine was one of the first ever robots, period. It did fight in 1994 and is one of my very favourite robots.
Having re-built the disk the night before filming, I can confirm that the teeth did indeed stay attached to the disk. Watch and learn!
Hi Mike!
Hope you (did/will do) well in this heat - it will make me feel a lot better if the machine I lost to deals out plenty of damage :)
I think that Typhoon won the heat, depending on if it was flipped or not. At the end of the last programme it looked, well pretty dangerous.
As Typhoons main victim over the years I wish him well
Go robots without flippers or a method to get another robot out of the arena :)
Typhoon 2, should live upto its name of dangerous murderuos robot.
