Is an active weapon a requirement?

Noob here embarking on first featherweight.

I want to start simple with limited objectives - i.e. surviving a round. Just getting something running will be challenge enough at first. My plan would be to add a weapon later.

Is it a requirement to have an active weapon? Are simple pusher robots allowed?

Welcome to the forum! Yes, simple push bots are allowed (even encouraged for a first bot). It was only the TV show heavyweights that needed an active weapon.

Yeah, an active weapon is nice but not required per se. Better to have a sturdy machine that lasts the 3 minutes.
