robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
its being rather temperamental atm, so much so that im making myself look a public idiot and asking for help... again
The relay is responding to the signals (i can hear it click) but the actuator will only turn one way. it cant be the relay signal since its responding and it cant be the actuator since the current must flow through both wires to complete the circuit.
i cant think what else it could be, it may be because im tired but im clueless to what is could be. i bet you lot are all getting sick of me now :)
anyone who has experience with this or similar relays offer up any help?
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
i may do some more work tomorrow so the sooner the info comes to be the better :)

There's one relay for extend and one for retract.
So.....
The relayS ARE responding to the signals (i can THEM click) but the actuator will only turn one way.
Your hearing both relays click?
Then one relay contact maybe burnt...thus preventing a circuit.
it cant be the relay signal since its responding and it cant be the actuator since the current must flow through both wires to complete the circuit. One relay is not working
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
then im unsure of how to fix the issue
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
So ONE relay clicking or TWO?
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
both a clicking yet only one is actually moving the actuator
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
Have you got a test meter?

Does this diagram make sense?
The blob represents a contact that moves across when the relay is energised.
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
yep, i understand it and thats probably tomorrow job :)
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
Any clue which one is not working?..then with a bit of brute force you should be able to remove the cover of the suspect relay and have a look inside.

the bottom relay aint working. i wasnt to sure how it was held on but super glue should get it back on?
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
Super glue should probably work.
If it isn't clicking it could be the board ....I'd try resoldering the pads on the board to ALL relay tags /connections.
A multimeter test on the relay coil connections should tell you a lot.

Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
As I suspected, the current is not passing between two of the areas meaning the actuator will only go one way but I a) don't know how I get into it without breaking the cover, and b) don't know how I would repair it if/when I get inside.
Anyone able to answer my questions? Sorry about their being quite so many of them
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
The cover is just that ...a cover .
This might sound nuts but you could remove the top with a junior hacksaw and look inside.. stick it back if everything is OK.
I posted a link to the relays pdf ...you should be able to identify the coil connections and use a multimeter to check that voltage is getting to them when you operate the board via RC.
The fault choices appear to be ... a stuck / welded contact ... a burnt out coil ... a bad connection on the board ... a faulty board.
Re: robot market place large rc duel relay wont behave
That would require me cutting the top off both sections since it goes through both so that's probably a job for later
