Re: A return to television
Yeah hope it will draw many viewers, would be a good boost. Would be nice if we could get some links to the forum in the credits after the show or something for PR

Re: A return to television
I MUST find a way to watch or record this!

If it is on in the USA at the 1st of june - it would not appear on any schedules yet!
Kudos though, that would be the right channel.

Re: A return to television
Robogames is not listed on Discovery Science [which is chan 524, as above] on May 30, 31 or June 1. So assuming we get it, we will be getting it later than the Americans.

Re: A return to television
Look for it as Killer Robots
Yea, yea. I know...
-
Re: A return to television
Sadly no sign of it on the UK Discovery site around those dates under any name. Guess we are going to have to wait for a while.
-
Re: A return to television
Nothing like High-Speed cameras and post production SFX to make Robots even cooler!!
I'm sure these shows will end up on the internet somewhere so us brits can watch them. Post links here people!
-
Re: A return to television
I have a feeling someone will be kind enough to stream it on the internet.
I'm hoping for that, at least.

Re: A return to television
I'm only ten minutes into watching it, it's awesome! Got a great mix between the battling and seeing the people behind the sport without any of the annoying theatrics that plagued other tv shows.
-
Re: A return to television
Im still downloading it.....at 30kb/sec :( only another 2 hours to wait!
-
Re: A return to television
think i'll upload to youtube in a bit

Re: A return to television
This video has been removed because it is too long.
Sorry about that.
-
Re: A return to television
I still liked the video...
-
Re: A return to television
lol noticed that at around 2am last night but couldn't be bothered to upload again. I'll sort it later today
-
Re: A return to television
Just finished watching it.
If they didn't cut to Grant's face constantly all the way through battles it would have been better.
-
Re: A return to television
its already up on megavideo by the looks of it
sometimes bit annoying site though as it says you have watched 72mins of free video wait 60mins for another free 72mins even sometimes when you haven't
-
Re: A return to television
easy way to get around that. Let the entire video buffer then tell your browser to work offline. No limit then
-
Re: A return to television
is there a link to watch it somewhere that you dont have to download it?
-
Re: A return to television
Only had a quick look, it's not quite the same level of production value of Robot Wars, but it'll be interesting to see full combat heavies with modern technologies. I think Robot Wars went off air before a lot of new developments came into be standard in robot combat. Lithium batteries, Titanium alloys, brushless motors etc......

Re: A return to television
no one has a link to anywhere? or even one you can download?

just noticed the lip sync goes out during the second vid *sigh* I hate dealing with videos
-
Re: A return to television
YouTube does some funny stuff to videos. I wish it would just re-produce what you upload..... Is that asking too much?
-
Re: A return to television
seems it's from my free video editing software, i'm trying to play around again to see if it will sync it up again
-
Re: A return to television
I really enjoyed it, i agree about the constant cutting during the fights, but other than that, couldn't fault it. Great to see new stuff back on the TV and shows a show can be made for a relative small production cost.
Well done Dave, hopefully we'll see a series next year! One year i'll make it over!
-
Re: A return to television
just finished watching them all, i wish HW spinners were still legal since they put on such a great show!
even if we could limit the size/weight/power of them, just to bring them all back into the arena

Re: A return to television
Just watched it all, really cracking battles! Particularly the Last Rites v Original Sin/Sewer Snake fights. And I can't believe I used to be indifferent towards the Touro family of robots
It's probably just all talk at the moment but I'm now really tempted to go over for next year's games. It's the first time I could probably afford it, and besides, they need a proper Scots team over there, not some Yanks in Scots kilting 8)
How about a collective UK attendance effort next year? :)

Someone should start up a fund or something to get the money to get some people + robots over there. I'd donate.

Re: A return to television
Next year?
Make it over this October for The ComBots Cup.

Re: A return to television
That should be what our Team Scotland middleweight effort turns into Jamie, sack the middleweight aspect of it and build a heavy for that next year :D .
Although, if we did do that we probably couldn't use the excuse of Its too far everytime we're asked to drive to England for an event

Good program BTW. I think the contest came out really well. Grant came across brilliantly as a presenter.

Re: A return to television
Like the sound of that. This sounds like an MSN worthy conversation Gary...
