were to buy O rings

in after some O rings for the insides of my gearboxes but dont know were to buy them, any help?

dont bother just buy grub screws instead

how would i go about locking the gear boxes with grub screws?

you know there are lots(like 10 or 12) of little holes round the top of your drill motor screw them in there

so you just screw them into all the little holes?

what size screws would i need for a argos drill motor?

mine were m6 i think. i only used 4 in each drill though

and did you see any improvment with drive etc?

o rings have more chance of slipping and degrading. Grub screws work well. I used m5 on mine. You tighten them until the output shaft doesn't rotate in your hands. Be careful that you don't go too far as you will start to push the body of the drill away from the front plate on the motor.

Well it gives you all the torque the drill can muster unlike an o-ring or the standard torque limiter which will slip under heavy load, good if you want to protect expensive components but not so good in a pushing match.

in a robot using drills for drive i fail to see where the expensive components are :P

well, speed control, batteries reciver, armour, the list goes on :D

how far should M5 grub screws go inside the holes in argos drill motors?

until the output shaft stops rotating

so that it does not rotate at all?

no you only want to screw them so there is a slight rotation which is stopped with the little bumps on the plate hitting the grub screw

I usually go that little stage further and tighten them until there is no rotation on the shaft but each to their own
