This event if all goes to plan is gonna kick start the year with a bang.
Smidsy is all up running and tested so we will have the disc running for a few tests, hopefully if all goes well, we will get some spinners back in the arena both heavy and feather :-)
Once things are finalised there will be details of our 2011 plans !!

I should be there with Storm Force, Pug and the rest of my fleet. This should also be the last time you see Storm Force as a barrel of laughs (providing Swanny and Jason can make it this time :lol:

Don't know if im going up on Saturday yet, but I will try to get in there if I do.
We are sluming it in the travel lodge on the M1, but will pop in for a drink along the way with you after setting up!

I'm really looking forward to this event just got to get the robots going as they are all in bits at the moment.
I'm just up the road myself so I've got to go :P will be good driving practice (both for the robots and for my parents' car...)
Signed up with what I know I'm bringing (I have a variety of bits which may or may not combine themselves into additional ants before the day) and looking forward to it :)

Tron trouble!
Last night found one of the motors were broken I think it is the gear box, I found another motor for it and fitted that,
I think I have now run out of spare drill motors for Tron. I am hoping of doing some new wheels for it as a test.
Should be the first outing for Disturbed and the upgraded BOOM!.
Will they work??..................................well none of our other robots ever have so why should they be any different :rofl: :rofl:

Got back in about an hour ago, I had a fantastic time and it was really good to see everyone again, and to meet a few new faces :) thanks very much to Jonno and the crew for tolerating us and putting on a great event.
The spinner demonstration seemed to go very well but I think we need more destructable destructobots ;P
I've just got back. Roaming Robots just keeps getting better and better and I loved the new arena.
Pug had horrendous luck in its fight as usual (courtesy of Graeme from Little Flipper who seemed to have something against me) and Storm Force performed far better in its fight with Batterbot, Apocalypse and Cherub despite the gas leak it had. Overall I really enjoyed myself and I really cannot wait till April now :)

Back and unloaded. Really enjoyable event and a lot of things which haven't worked before did which was good. Disturbed wasn't one of them though but that wasn't much of a shock :proud: Thanks to John lear for the welding which almost got it in but a bit of work to do before whitwick.
Like the new arena and looking good for this year.

Jonno good job on the arena It is so much better than the old one. Looking forward to the new arena floor and arena hazards.
The robots did OK Seraph was faultless in it's operation and won a few fights sorry flippers. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Shows the audience have taste :uhoh: :uhoh:
Tron didn't break. The new wheels didn't work, but I haven't given up.
Cherub what can I say, at least it wasn't a complete failure, this time only a chain link broke. this was fixed and it continued to slide around the arena. I don't think it is going to take the championship by storm but it should be another fun robot to watch :mrgreen:
Jonno I left my Tx charger plugged into the scales I think, if your coming to Whitwick could you bring it along, should manage without it until then, Thanks.
Finally finished unpacking the car. Thanks to everyone for another great event! Had a really good time and there were far too many funny moments to mention all of them but a few of them included
1. Clive and co. being asked whether they were athletes when checking into the hotel. :rofl:
2. Maelstrom vs Major Damage
3. Batter bot not breaking despite all of our best efforts
and
4. Wendy going crazy when she thought Toon Raider was on fire- turns out it was a false alarm but she did manage to clear the pits :rofl:
Maelstrom had a few issues with its batteries this time round which resulted in frying 3 battery packs (including one while in the car driving home) but other than that did have some good fights.
Disc-struction also had its first test in the arena and once we've sorted out the drive and some decent teeth for the discs should be running well (and hopefully we'll be able to turn up the speed a little more than the 8% that they were running at for that test :twisted: )
EDIT- forgot to say thanks to Craig and Zak for letting me have a go of Cherub in the final fight nice to be able to drive a robot which doesn't keep turning itself over all the time :)

shame it didn't work like that in Dublin :rofl: Found one of the bearings had come out in Kronic, so one wheel was lifting up, hence the reason for getting stuck, explains some of my bad driving from yesterday :wink:
