13th to 15th of January 2011 - RoDs Dublin, Ireland

After much negotiation, Mechatrons will be presenting Robots of Destruction again in Dublin.

The terms have changed this year and the prize fund and appearance fees have been reduced. We will still cover ferry and hotel though. Only heavyweights and mechs/boxers required. Priority will be given to teams with multiple bots.

I do have a heavy but its not going to be ready, however I was wondering if I can attend the event anyway, paying for my own food and accom but come behind the barrier with the other roboteers.

Got everybody's applications. We have been going through them.
As you know, budget is severely limited and we have received more applications this year than ever before. As much as we would love to bring everyone, we can't, so I am sorry if you don't get selected this time :sad: .

I will be letting everyone who applied know by the weekend.

That said, anybody who is able to pay their own way is more than welcome to come and compete as long as their robot is fully compliant with the rules.

You are also welcome to come and spectate. Any FRA members who would like to attend as spectators, let me know and I will arrange entry tickets to the event for you (that's just the tickets to get into the show - you will need to get to Dublin yourself).

Hi Pete,

It looks like I might not be able to get the time off of work now... so please take me out of the hat.

If I can make it I will let you know and make my own travel arrangements.

I got a plan.......put Thor on the list and we can take Behemoth with us aswell. I am sure Kane will let me loose with it for the weekend. :)

Due to poor health at the moment I won't be able to go to this event,

Blimey it's going to be quiet !!!!

I've been bed-bound for the last 3 days, just starting to recover, hopefully will be ok for next week! I think most of us will be on the lemsip rather than the Guinness!

First it puts a saint sized hole in the polycarb !!!! yes massive hole.
Then it breaks a floor pannel.
Then it gets flipped and the spike goes through the floor into the tarmac !!

Its done the most damage, done the most fights, and hasnt broken down !!

Most destructive robot here !!!

We didn't run Saint on Saturday as Pete was worried about more damage to the arena. I was going to put it in the final melee but John asked me to drive Beast.

Apocalypse was a major embarrisment as it really struggled all week, it is now stripped down and still not behaving properly starting to run out of ideas why the drive electronics are playing up.

A really fun event, thanks to all the crew and organisers.

How did the other robots do Jonno and John, had a few problems with theirs, was that drive issues too?

John had a problem with Beast's flipper, but got it working by Saturday. And Jonno had some probs as well but Ripper was working very well by the end minus human error. But it wasn't working soon enough!
