Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Lol, this really means I have to get mine done... just needs drilling and tapping a few holes and sorting out the weapon pulley/bushing deal now I think.
Looks great :)
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
its so good i would buy it if i was not building my own 1
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
A track bot yay :D
your my new friend lol :)
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
looking good. How much do beatles weigh again?
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
yes its 75g
NOT!!!!!!!!!!
THATS LESS THAN A ANT ROBOT

NO ITS MORE THAN A KG
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
thanks for comments! maximum is 3lb / 1.361kg, which gives this machine 600g to play with 0_0
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
haha i was nealy right
I WIN :proud:
(75G GOOD 1)

Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
It looks great ewan, I'm liking the fact you're using Banebots, underated as small robot controller IMHO, I use them in 2 of my antweights.
BTW, FYI, 75g is a weight class limit, just but beetle, its the Fleaweight limit (next size robots down from Antweights)
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
woahh, talk about 'great minds'! have you got any video of that machine? I reckon the two robots I took most inspiration from were http://lazytoad.com/teamtoad/avalanche.html and http://www.irobot.com/gi/ground/510_PackBot , though now it just looks like I've copied you =p
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Also wish I had the equipment to bend metal like that >.<
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Its a good design all round, the weaker version with a carbon fibre scoop actually won AWS 31 :)
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Really reminds me of the antweight Shazbot from Team Nightmare. Great job!
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
I was planning a robot like that, but I might not build one like it now
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Changed the arm-servo from the cheapo chinese one to a modified Hitec HS-7954SH. The previous one had stripped a few teeth so I'm hoping this one will be more up to the rather violent motion the arm goes through when 'somersaulting'.

Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
What kind of motors do you use for that weightclass? And where did you get those tracks?
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Tracks - http://osbots.com/shop/product/tank-tread-set/ (got a set of soft-rubber wheels too which are actually grippier but the tracks can climb over things.. and look cooler)
Motors - http://banebots.com/pc/MS-16XXX-050/MS-16038-050
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
You can of course use other motors though!
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Thanks, was looking at some motors between the antweight class and drill motors as i wanna build something in between aswell as another project
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Swapped out the 11.1v battery for a couple of 7.4's in series, it's very cramped in there but now goes a lot faster!

Still no beetleweight competitions...
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
if you had enough power in the lifter motors, add some spikes onto the scoop on the correct side then it could double upm as an axe :)
probably a crap idea but would look dam good :)
Re: Fractal [beetleweight]
Any videos with the higher voltage and new arm servo running? I just love how the thing looks!
