In short no. In long nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
But seriously, robot wars most likely won't be returning unless it's resurected in years to come like gladiators was when the tv producers are scraping the barrel again for ideas. Robot wars was great in its time but it ran it's course. I barely know of anyone that watched series 7, partly because channel 5 kept moving it around and partly because people didn't know it was still on or cared about it.
It's a shame but we still have a decent calendar of live events and a good community still building them. So when are you gonna start building a bot? :P
Im doing A-levels at the moment so realistically i havent time to build a bot and thank for the info
dont forget about many guality hevay weight robot competitions hosted by people here :)
hey matt, dont suppose your a relation of antony pritchard are you? (with a robot called behemoth)
LOL A-levels? Believe me you have plenty of time to plan a machine in your spare time. I'm in the fourth year of a mechanical engineering course working 10 hour days in uni studying and im still designing machines :)
No im not Related to Anthony im from Shropshire
I build robots in my A levels, in fact my featherweight is something I'm building and documenting for the new Extended Project thing at college :)
Really? Hope it goes well. :)Quote:

if you keep it simple enough then you have the time
I'm also doing A levels and have started an ant and have some plans for some heavier stuff.
im not doing a-levels....im too young :P but i still find the time to make many...many robots...well... just look under my username :P
but seriously, robot wars...well we'v got roaming robots, robots live and robo challenge....i see it coming back...its waaaaaay off but i see it coming back
perhaps try making an ant weight?
I will do sometime but can i also ask what happened to the house robots?
who knows
they were the tv companies property so they may have stored or sold the parts on
btw RR events have house robots :proud:
i saw on facebook that sgt Bash is at Hemel
Yeah that was a Sgt Bash shell or replica they had. Wasn't at that event but seeing pictures of a classic house robot at a modern live event was cool.
As someone mentioned, the house robots are stored in a warehouse somewhere. I believe they are the property of the BBC Visual Effects department so they're probably stored alongside various other TV props. A sad existence for some amazing machines :(
Who fancies a stealthy trip to go rescue them? :)
I think ill e-mail the bbc to try and find out what happened to them
You have to contact them through a blog as they dont really want to read the e-mails
lol bin there done that,
back when i first started all the robot stuff i was the same as you and i asked the bbc aswell
if my memory serves me right as it was about a year and a half ago i asked......
the guy who designed them chris reynolds and his team, used to work for the bbc visual effects department so at that point the bbc owned them, but that closed down around series 6 time so im not too sure how but then chris ended up owning them with his new special effects company that he currently owns called alleffects or something like that,
series 7 ended, so he up until about 2 years ago he kept them in his workshop but then put them into storage as they were getting in the way.
as far as i no they are still in storage unless they have broke free and are living wild somewhere
Count me in Jamie :rofl:Quote:

Lol john you may have won a fair number of trophies in the live event circuit but the robot wars trophies are a prize you won't ever have
