The Teambud Challenge Trophy

As the name suggests we are opening a competition to all roboteers to run as long as it can at all events if it is possible.

If you remember the challenge belt on robot wars then this competition will be pretty much the same. Teambud will build 2 trophies....1 for the heavyweight division and 1 for the featherweight division. The feather weight division will be called the Chairmans challenge. The fights will be 1 v 1 and there will be 1 fight per event. I hope robots live and robochallenge are willing to run the competition at their events as well as roaming robots who have already agreed.

So for the heavyweight division Envy (who else :) will start off the Teambud challenge trophy. For the feathers i have a robot in mind just need conformation before i announce who it is.

Any robot can challenge Envy for the trophy.....the rule will be a challenger must be able to attend the next event on the calendar so to be able to accept a challenge from another robot. the winner will have their name on the trophy to take home and admire for a short while. The trophy must be returned to the following event to be defended.

If Envy loses the trophy to (let say) Iron awe then Envy cant challenge for the trophy until Iron Awe has lost it.

The holder will have to fight which ever robot challenger Teambud chooses. The Chairman for the feathers.

Challenges can be made on this thread after each event and challengers will be announced before each event.

In short there it is. i hope you all join in the fun and have a good year roboteering. please feel free to add any dimension to the challenge and point out any flaws. specially from the EO's.

to take on the champion

Hi Swanny.I suggest that if is attending Barnsley that Pug should be your featherweight champion.We would of course be very proud to fight for this trophy and would like to challenge your chosen machine for the Chairmans Challenge with Tiny Toon.

Great idea this! A good way to get an opportunity to fight featherweights one on one, which doesn't happen often enough in my opinion. I'll deffo be challenging later in the year!

In that case I will challenge Envy with Maelstrom and Beauty with Aftershock :)

Pillow Torque puts in a challenge to the holder at the Robots Live event at Whitwick if RL agree to have it on their schedule. However, if won, for reasons entirely beyond our control it cannot be defended until RL's event at Burgess Hill.

hmmm, may need to get Ploughbot working now theres a chance for a 1 on 1! I'll see what events i'll be at, I expect most though. Never lost to beauty :proud:

Can I just clear up one thing, it's up to the holder which bot they choose to fight out of all the challenges they recieve, is that right? Won't they just choose one they know they can beat?

The challenges will be chosen by me. and i promise to either draw them out of a hat of roll a dice......i will even roll the dice on the RR chat room to show fairness.

Not sure on feathers yet still a couple of issues there but working on it

Firstly great idea, this year is shaping up nicely with your challenge trophy, the new format UK Champs and the team championship in Norwich.
Secondly you know we're more than happy to take the trophy any time you want, but quite understand if you don't want to fight us straight away :wink:

Very good Mr Grimm. A post most expected from you mate. Really i should have put Iron Awe as the first holder as i consider your robot to be one of the best to beat. I do hope Envy draws you first mate. :)

oh bugg*r :P i want in, its a great idea, but i cant garuntee attendence at every event :P maidstone, ayesbury, reading, burgess hill, guilldford are ones i can get to, but wigan and barnsly etc may be a bit out of reach :(

Maybee we can sort it so you can have a crack at it but if you cant make the next event then you can have your name on the trophy but the next event 2 new robots fight for it.....will have a good think and work something out.....i am open to suggestions.

May I put Cabrakan and Satanix in for the HW and FW contests respectively ? I attend the vast majority of events, as I'm sure the EO's will testify :)

Envy 2010 might not be ready intime for the Barnsley event so i have deciced to start the challenge with the following 2 robots.....

Beast will challenge Maelstrom. The winner will take home the trophy and their name will be the first on it.

Indeed well done to Maelstrom being the first robot on the trophy. The trophy is now yours and you will be challenged for it at nottingham event. Unlucky Lear. I am happy its now under way and hope roboteers get some joy of the challenge. Envy will be ready for battle at nottingham but i wont challenge for my own trophy just yet.....need to test Envy first. :)

Can any roboteers wishing to challenge maelstrom for the Teambud Challenge Trophy Please post here and challenges will close Friday. Challengers must be able to make the next event after Nottingham to make a defending fight if they beat Maelstrom.

If say..Beauty has the trophy.. and i challenge him at a full combat event and smash him up as per usual... How would someone get it of me? Do they have to wait until the next full combat event to fight me? As i'm not allowed to run in a normal arena :(
