The 2009 UK Championships are now drawing to a close, so who's going through to the finals do we think? This year, the fights will be harder, and closely fought. An event certainly not to be missed !

2009 will once again see the first outing of another revamped RR arena, undergoing some major changes once again over the summer months to fit in with the current level of events.

Well I have signed up for all 3 of the winter event shows not saying the robots will survive till the end but that€™s half the fun.
I€™m looking forward to getting back into some shows the middle of the year has been a bit quiet for me.

I dont think we will be there on the saturday night, if we are it will only be for a couple of hours.

wow, not as cheap as that airport one !

60 gbp for a double room, in a purpose built hotel that gets very good ratings on bedandbreakfasts.co.uk :)

could find a match on price, but probable not on quality ;)

We'll also book a room at the southhampton airport, so see you guys there !

hey All,

Just to ask if you could make sure your Heavy Weight or Feather Weight (Robots that go in the MAIN arena) are signed up to the event and are on the online list. Trying some new computer system out and is handy if your on the system. Though the system will not allow multi-sign ups so if you need to add a robot to the event, then please email webmaster@roamingrobots.co.uk as it's easier to ad you to the system now than at the event.Thanks for your co-operation and hopfuly this new thing will work at the event - 2 weekends away!

Are you sorted for that long USB cable so our ants can go up on that big screen, if not then I'll invest in one.

A USB cable? I'm confused. At present we don't have means to get footage from a USB cam (Web cam) onto the screens.
Only using standard AV cable (normal yellow) video which goes into the main switcher. We have the camera, well a camera,
but it's the long AV cable we need which i have ordered by jonno ages ago, so it's if he gets it or not.
Which i would say no, as he's not doing anything at the moment.

OK Stu,

I can handle the camera, lighting etc and the cable.

How long do you think it needs to be to reach from the antweight area to your equipment?

if i'm honest i have no idea. Depends on day where i go and where the ant arena goes. Could be 5m or 15m! Hmmm. I'll speak to john.

same here, a nice chew toy for the decent robots . i ran down to B&Q just before closing time to get some last minute thicker mdf , so ill only die a little bit.

No Cabrakan for this event, and possibly no Satanix either, still having controller issues, but I'll be there anyway, running the ants, and there on the Saturday to help set up early the next morning.
