Roaming Robots RA2: Rebirth

Hi All, just thought i would start this thread to display some of my work.
Im currently doing RR Robot replica videos, and posting them on you tube.

@Jonno: Ripper's done, im thinking of having a fight between him and some of the other flippers.
@Kane: Acctually, a Behemoth replica was done some time ago, but i guess it could have an appearence :)

Ahh, yes, i made a Beauty 2 replica some time back.
I make them on Robot Arena 2, with a bit of modding knowledge.

Just wondering how complicated a mechanism you can make in this game and I'm debating on whether I should buy it or robot wars extreme destruction when my computer if fixed.

I've been on a laptop from before the summer holidays so am missing my favourite programmes like RW: AoD :cry:

Robot Arena 2 causes my computer to crash every time, probably because I have Vista >_>

(I had to switch back to Vista because my hardware wasn't compatible with XP. WTH?!)

Mines fine on vista. Nowt would beat the robot i made tho ages ago.

Hi, if its not a secret, what do you actually mod in there? Its quite bad to build the robots in RA : cant get some things out of the body, have to use very simple solutions, and so on... :lame:

Err, i mod outside of the game, then it appears in game.

Good stuff there......... so what is it with Hunter and Pillow Torque then? :proud:

Dunno, they are kinda alike (except for colours :P)

Yeah, error with the AI, im trying to fix it ATM.

Kane, i wouldnt be to sad, i've tried a few fights after that one and the winner mostly was Behemoth!

sorry, im being a noob, but im new to this simulation stuff. Is the winner pre determined, and are the robots controlled by the computer or people ?

Its all done on a game called Robot Arena 2.
Basically, i make the robots, AI them (so that theyre computer controlled) then let them fight for themselves.
Yep Jonno, i shall do that for you.
I was thinking recently about making my own house robot for these fights, as they do become a bit boring (Eg, start turning round in circles).
Since im not at the level to make MD yet, i might make my own one :P

These mods are great!!

Do they need the DSL mod to work?

I still have RA2, but it's a version that's stuck between the original and the DSL mod - which is really odd... :?

Yes, well, its DSL with my mods and tweaks inside.
Im thinking of eventually releasing an AI pack of my replicas, which i was going to do some time ago but an error occoured so i couldnt.
But hopefully i can in some time. *touch wood*

Hey, Do you know if its possible to use modded robots online? I wanna own some people with my robot on it but im using the front hinged flipper thing.... You know the Judge burst/hinge. I wanna play online with it mainly because my cousins made robots on it and i wanna show em they suck :p

I didnt know who was going to win, honestly, i only make the replicas, AI them, then let them fight it out for them selves.

Matt, are u able to put in 6 robots into the ring?

coz I was thinking about a Team Mayhem with 3 on each team,

Pug, Hunter & Satanix would be a good team ;)

It's impossible to put more than 4 robots in there; creators, hackers, and other players have tried it with no such luck.

Or so I remember.

If you could have more than 4 bots in the arena, i would of done an annihilator by now :P
