A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
In Series One, Roadblock from Bodmin overtook the opposition and pasted Bodyhammer after a spectacular grand final to become the first Robot Wars champion
In Series Two, Panic Attack surprised everyone after pitting the almighty Cassius to become our second champion
The next two series saw Chaos II break a Robot Wars record as it not only became the first to flip a robot out of the arena, but the first to win two series in a row!
Razer became the holders of the crown in Series Five, after crushing and biting its way to victory
In Series Six, Tornado blew its enemies into submission in a grand final worthy of a Robot Wars brawl
And Series Seven, the RAF and Typhoon went to new heights as the sixth Robot Wars champion!
And now, after 5 years, Robot Wars makes its final return. And if you don't enter it, you'll simply have to read it :proud:
But enough of the Road to Armageddon, or as I call it, the M4, and on with the main course :)
The rules are different for this fan fiction net: I need eight people to enter one real robot and one vapourbot. Can six people please enter a featherweight and a middleweight (They can be either real or your own)
Its a heavyweight tournament, set in the Series Seven arena. The house robots will be there as usual
Normal weight limits apply, clusterbots, as many parts as wanted, are allowed, but once half are out, its all out
Thanks for entering this. I know Robot Wars was sent off long ago, but surely we owe us, the fans, one more rumble :proud:
See you tomorrow with some updates
-

All vapourbot stats can be found on the link in my sig.

Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Ooh, sounds like a lark. :D
HEAVYWEIGHTS:
1. Traffic Warden
SHAPE- square bracket, rounded rear
COLOUR- black with a yellow stripe
WEIGHT- 100kg, I hope
DIMENSIONS- 95cm X 150cm X 25cm
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0mm
GROUND CLEARANCE- 10mm
ARMOUR- 4mm Grade 5 titanium
MOVEMENT- four inner wheels
POWER- 2 x Etek-RT motors, running at 48v and producing 38hp.
WEAPONS- Two vertical hydraulic clamps within the middle of the machine. Each clamp is powered by an 80mm x 40mm ram operating at 3000psi, delivering up to 10 tonnes of crushing power. When an opponent slips into the middle, the clamps activate and hold them in place. Traffic Warden can then drag them around and shove them into the nearest arena hazard. Think of it as Huggy Bear on steroids.
SRIMECH- invertible, rounded rear should prevent it getting beached
NOTES- flies Scotland flag, super special awesome thanks to Daniel Stickler, Martijn and AJ for helping with the design
STRENGTHS- great traction, tough shell, fairly manoueverable, nippy, powerful grip
WEAKNESSES- untested weapon, exposed ground clearance
PIC- http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/1130 ... nalto6.png
2. Tsunami (RW7)
FEATHERWEIGHT:
Rolling Pin FTW
SHAPE- cylinder ala Barberous
COLOUR- brown
WEIGHT- approx 13kg
DIMENSIONS- 30cm X 50cm X 20cm
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0mm
GROUND CLEARANCE- 10mm
ARMOUR- 3mm titanium monocoque body
MOVEMENT- 2 x outer wheels with a rolling pin handle on each
POWER- 2 X 9.6v drill motors, running on 12v. The motors run on 4000Mah NiCad€™s, resulting in a 4amp battery
WEAPONS- Why, the robot itself. Rolling Pin FTW is armed with a full-body spinning drum, powered by a Speed 900 at 24v, with a second 4amp battery powering it. The drum can reach speeds of 2000rpm for the perfect balance of spin-up and slaughter.
SRIMECH- invertible
NOTES- flies Scotland flag, cheers to Joey for help
STRENGTHS- Fairly destructive, fast, manoueverable, well protected
WEAKNESSES- low pushing power, may prove tricky to control
PIC- http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/517/ ... ftwhs5.png
MIDDLEWEIGHT:
Killoteeny
SHAPE- compact box shape with a front Storm 2-style wedge and a rounded rear
COLOUR- red
WEIGHT- about 50kg
DIMENSIONS- 80cm X 60cm X 25cm
SPEED- about 16mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at the front, 5mm at sides and back without skirts, 0mm at sides and back with skirts
ARMOUR- 5mm polycarbonate
WHEELS- inside robot, 4WD
POWER- 2 X S28-150s, running at 24v
WEAPONS- The main weapon is the large 180 degree pneumatic axe, very similar to that of Killerhurtz, which operates ala a rack-and-pinion system like Terrorhurtz. Running on 160psi, it really packs more than a punch and can very easily self-right the machine.
Also, if anything should happen to the axe, then the robot can use the low wedge and great pushing power to resort to a Tornado-style tactic - ram to death!
SRIMECH- The axe. Even if it€™s already been fired while flipped, the axe can right itself ala Killerhurtz, aided by a rounded back. Also, the machine has a rounded back and a red semi-sphere on either side of robot to stop it landing on its side.
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- Fast, dangerous weapon, good amount of traction, difficult to get under, quick srimech, quite good armour
WEAKNESSES- so-so turning
PIC- http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/3106 ... enytj6.png

Don't you mean Gravity 3 ?
Cause 5 hasn't been built yet ;)
-

Thats all for now :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
yes we are brothers :)
wooo i entered typhoon so i guess i am seeded :)
jack
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
I'll enter X-Terminator (thanks for reminding me of the seeds mate :proud: ) and Liar 2 as my vapour, stats on ZED
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Thanks, Martijn. You don't have to enter the seeds, you know, everyone
This is what it currently looks like
1: Typhoon II
2: Storm II
3: Tornado
4: X-Terminator
At the moment, though
1: Typhoon II (Champion)
2: X-Terminator (Fourth Place)
3: Gravity (Semi-Finalist)
4: Terrorhurtz (Didn't Do A Thing) :proud:
Ben, I assume your taking the S7 Gravity?
There are two places left and still some places in the featherweight and middleweight competitions :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Negativity and Tornado (S6) please.
For otherweights, I'll enter Strike and Starfighter.
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
I'll enter Firestorm 5 and Ge5orce in the main competition. I'll also enter OverDrive in the featherweights and The Unamed Feeling in the middleweights. :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
*Note: The following is an absolutely ridiculous question being asked to the almighty AJ.
Why not put in the all-powerful ForcePower Turbo, even though it's been replaced with Exertion?
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
All spots filled in the main competition, everyone
Typhoon (Jack)
OID (Jack)
Macduff the 4th (Kody)
Surgeon General (Kody)

The Unarmed Feeling (AJ)
Xianghua III (Kody)
Killoteeny (Steven)
Strike (Mark)
Voodoo Chile (Jack)
One more spot for the featherweight and middleweight competitions
Sorry I forgot to tell you this in the beginning, but your vapourbots have to come from somewhere. Real robots have to come from where they really do
And another thing I forgot (I feel like an idiot now) was the special events
World Championships (6)
Annihilator (6)
All Stars (At the end of the series, I'll pick the top six)
So sorry for those little things I missed, take your time please :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Hmm... For the side events, depends on whether or not you can use robots not from the main competition.
Negativity comes from Texas, USA.
If you can, I'll have Revenge of the Prayer Shawl for the World Championship, representing Israel, and American Oil in the annihilator.
If you can't, then I won't enter those 2 side events.
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Mark: You kinda answered the question yourself - because it has been replaced with Exertion. ForcePower Turbo hasn€™t been active for about five years now. Exertion is almost 20 months old itself which is why I haven€™t used it for a while.
Elliot: As much as I like your new names, it€™s Ge5orce and The Unamed Feeling. :proud: All my vapourbots will represent Bourne in Lincolnshire and I think Firestorm is from Durham. For the World Championships and Annihilator, are we allowed to choose a vapourbot/real bot to enter? And if so, does it have to be one of those in the main competition?
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Question: Why did you replace ForcePower Turbo, if it was able to do the difficult task of ramming another robot OOTA.
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
AJ, I knew about the spelling mistakes and I'm sorry
I was preferring you'd use robots from the main event to enter the side events, but it doesn't matter
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Put Tsunami down for the World Championship (Representing Germany, of course) and Traffic Warden down for the Annihilator please, Elliot. :D
In regards to towns/countries to represent, you can find them under people's profile info (I, for instance, would represent Glasgow). For real robots, you can always look up their fights on YouTube and listen to their introductions.
EDIT: You are Elliot. ELLIOT. Not Lewis.
Unless...
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
My name is Elliot, Steven :proud:
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
typhoon: i think it comes from Edinburgh...but il check
o.i.d: comes from richmond upon thames
can i have typhoon for the world champs (representing Scotland, which is good cos a: im Scottish and b: typhoon is Scottish :) ) and o.i.d for the annihilator please
jack
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
There's still a spot in the otherweights that one more person can fill
Annihilator
OID (Jack)
Traffic Warden (Steven)
American Oil (Mark)
World Championships
Typhoon II/Scotland (Jack)
Tsunami/Germany (Steven)
Revenge of the Prayer Shawl/Israel (Mark)
There are three spots in the above left, and one more spot in the FW and MW classes
Also, I just want the location of your vapourbot. I can find where the real robots come from myself, guys :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
I'll enter skink in the feathers, maxus in the middles, CrOoKeD EvO in the annihilator and terrorhurtz in the world champs
Regards
Harry
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Ooh, more spots open?
Super Gore Septua for the Annihilator, and Iron Awe 5 (realie) for the World Championships, representing...the U.K. :P Stats where they usually are.
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Thanks guys. All main events are closed, but there remains one more spot in the Annihilator/World Championships
Annihilator
American Oil (Mark)
CroOked Evo (Harry)
Super Gore Septua (Kody)
OID (Jack)
Traffic Warden (Steven)
World Championships
Revenge of the Prayer Shawl/Israel (Mark)
Tsunami/Germany (Steven)
Iron Awe 5/England (Kody)
Typhoon II/Scotland (Jack)
Terrorhurtz/Czech Republic (Harry)
Mark, I need stats for American Oil and Prayer Shawl
Harry, I assume Terrorhurtz will be represting Czech Republic?
Kody, is it OK if Iron Awe 5 represents England? Since Typhoon is representing Scotland, and they are all part of the UK... :)
See you tonight with the lineup for the main events, if possible
-

Tsunami VS Macuff the 4th
Heat 3
CroOked Evo VS Firestorm V
Traffic Warden VS Pickaxe of Doom

OID VS Tornado
Surgeon General VS Ge5orce
I still need someone to enter the Annihilator and World Championships. And Mark, I need stats for Revenge of the Prayer Shawl and American Oil. Are they on ZED?
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Tactics and predictions are welcome, guys
Mark, I can find the stats on ZED
Martijn, I assume you're represnting Holland
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Tsunami vs. Macduff the 4th
Pfft. I like Tsunami, but in this match it's just another flipper. And it won't do much, namely because flipping me does nothing, and I'm pretty much unstackable. I'll keep the hinged forks on for this fight, since they can easily get under wedges. Basically just ram him around into anything in the way.
Surgeon General vs. Ge5orce
Dangit. Oh well, it's not like Ge5orce can much to me anyway, me being invertible and hard to flip when spinning and all. Stay in the middle of the arena and attack his wheel pods, or his flipper if he's gutsy enough to open it in front of me and I somehow evade it.
g'luck peeps
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Still need that last place in the Annihilator/World Championships filled
Mark, I think Prayer Shawl is overweight (150kg). Can you try and sort it, please?
More tactics and predictions welcome. I hope to start tonight :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Mark, I've checked your stats and both American Oil and Revenge of the Prayer Shawl are overweight. Can you try and slim them down, please?
Theres still one more spot in the Annihilator, and one more in the World Championships. I need one person to enter a robot into each
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
World Championships (Representing Canada): Whiplash
Annhilator: Theseus
Theseus
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Atomic (Series 7 Version)
Colour: Unpainted, but the weapon is blue
Dimensions: 100 X 79 X 36
Power: 2 X LEM-130's @ 36v powered by several NiCad's
Wheels: 4 X Aluminium Tyres with Urethane rubber for more grip
Armour: 4mm Hardox Moncoque everywhere
GC: 5mm Everywhere Except for the front, which is 0mm
Speed: 19mph
Weapon: Mainly relies on pushing power, but there IS an extremely powerful Atomic-like flipper, also made completely of 4mm Hardox, powered by 2 X 2kg CO2 Tanks. It can flip 1000kg with ease and it can also self-right the robot as well.
Strengths: Powerful Flipper, Great Pusher, Always Reliable
Weaknesses: Limited to 38 flips
Notes: Possibly the first time I built a NON-SPINNER? :lame:
Whiplash
Weight: 100kg
Body Shape: Pentagonal Pyramid with skirts
Dimensions: 100 X 85 X 38
Power: 2 X LEM-130's at 36v powered by 4 X Nicads
Tyres: 4 X Asmaprene Urethane Rubber Tyres
Speed: 15 mph
Armour: 4mm Hardox
Ground Clearence: 0mm with skirts, and 5mm without skirts
Weapon 1: SHEER PUSHING POWER
Weapon 2: At the front there is a 7kg Terrorhurtz-Like BattleAxe (made out of hardox, even the handle) powered by 2 X 2kg CO2 Tanks, 200 PSI, diamond tipped, has over 1500 joules of force when it comes down. It can also attack from both ends. Heavily Shock-Proofed, as well.
Srimech: The axe can easily self-right it (even when it's on its side), and it can also self-right even after the axe has fired, ala Killerhurtz.
Strengths: PSYCHOTIC AXE AND PUSHING POWER
Weaknesses: NONE AT ALL! (Except for Limited Co2 )
Additional Notes: The first robot to win a tournament
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Was actually looking for someone who entered the main tournament, Sam, but you'll do at this time :)
All spaces are filled. The next thing I need is mail sacks full of tactics and predictions before I can begin :proud:
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Well, hoorah!
I'll hand in my tactics closer to my fights, but I'm going to pick Liar 2 and Typhoon 2 to flip and rip their way into the Heat Final. 8)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Both bots have been slimmed down, although American Oil had its stats checked out by AJ.
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
Thanks, Mark, I'll have a look after
I still need more tactics and predictions, guys :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
The first heat is starting tonight without interferance, so any last tactics for Heat A need getting in quick :)
-
Re: A special Robot Wars Fan Fiction Anniversary
typhoon: get 'em from the sides, rip him up, immobilize him (co2 tank = jackpot!), job done :)
