windscreen wiper motors

after much thought i have decided to take the windscreen wiper motors out of wombat and sell them here as i dont use wombat anymore (it was mostly only for testing)

they could be used in a rex's robot challenge bot or in a slightly higher-tec robot.

they are in exellent condition and work brilliantly

there is a story actually...

i was 11 and i decided to make a featherweight... i descovered rex's build guide and bought all the parts online... but i needed motors

so i went down to the scrapy in search of motors but could find none, i looked high and low but too no avail

i was about to call it a day when i accidently nocked over a pile of tires to discover...

a kick ass car with... motors!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm interested in these, I'm new to this and was looking at following rex's robot challenge from a while back. Are these motors a matched pair like he uses and would they be suitable for this? Thanks

yeah they would work with a rexs robot setup, you will have to modify them as he does in the guide :)

Is Rex's challenge even run these days? Thought that died out a while back?

Last official event run by the Young Engineers using the Rex's Challenge rules was May 2004 as far as I know. Interestingly enough it was exactly five years ago today (if going by days of the week; by dates it was on 15th/16th May)

Yeah that's exactly what I meant, I have no building experience and that's the only complete guide I know of to get me started. If anyone knows of any other guides to help me along my way it would be much appreciated.

that guide and this forum are the best resources you have available. Where do you live? Chances are there will be an event nearby. Get yourself along to one and ask questions

I wouldn't bother with wiper motors, I did at the start but they were just more of a hastle than anything else.

Jack, best place to sell those motors would be ebay. You would be able to get far more cash for them on there. I know because I have sold around 40 wiper motors on ebay. FYI don't put them on as a wiper motor, but rather a motor and gearbox combo. Gets you far more cash. You could get around 20 quid each for em depending on their condition.
