Cim motors - help!
I am running out of CIM motors - originally supplied by Roger Plant, who I cannot now contact.
I have tried to source these by searching the internet but have drawn a blank.
When shopping in town on Saturday though, there was a invalid type electric scooter hire place, I had a nosey underneath one - a rascal 600 - and blow me but there were 2 cim motors, identical in every way. There must be millions of these motors, so why can I not find anyone who sells them?
Does anyone out there have contacts in the mobility trade who I could buy some of these motors from?

Re: Cim motors - help!
BINGO    :proud: :proud: :proud:
I have found a dealer who is willing to buy these motors for me. They are £95 brand new - Roger Plant's motors were used.
If anyone wishes to to also purchase some of these motors we can get the price down by buying in bulk, please post here or message me.

Re: Cim motors - help!
What is the address of the CIM website? I typed in cim.com and got a site for sport in Manchester. A search on google brings up absolutely nothing. I have been trying for 2 months now to find this site and have drawn a blank every time.

Re: Cim motors - help!
Hi Trev,
I just Googled CIM electric motor out of curiosity to see what came up. Not sure if the following is the same as what Dave is referring to or if its of any use but:

Re: Cim motors - help!
Thats the same site that I found, some interesting motors on there, also looks like the 'T' type gearbox that Roger used to sell.

Re: Cim motors - help!
Mark - bad news, the cim motor in the form that Roger Plant used is now obsolete and my motability contact cannot get them from electricmobility.
Went on the cclmotors web site and found an equivalent to the cim in size and capacity. Sent an e-mail asking for a price including delivery to the UK, did not ask for a freebie or a sponsorship, have I received a reply? What do you think? ignorant ***** ******* ******* .

Time for a motor upgrade Trevor?

Re: Cim motors - help!
Hi Trevor,
They are a manufacturer rather than a distributor or stockist. As such they will make motors to order and to the customers specification probably in batches of 100 or more. I did phone the UK number and was greeted by a hello and when challenged as to whether he was a business he said he was. Sounds like a one man band in the UK but I did request a catalogue.

Re: Cim motors - help!
Paul - thanks for phoning, as you can see I am getting very annoyed with people who ask me to leave my number and never get a reply. I sent 15 e-mails out one night and did not get a single reply. You may get more of a response as you can contact them through your business, I am too easy to ignore and forget.
Gary - I would love to fit Bosch's but the drive on Meggamouse is shoehorned into a very limited space and an increase in motor diameter means a major re-design of the base chassis and the gear trains. I have some Littons left from Mighty Mouse so if I am desperate I will use them. Ideally, s28-400 magmotors would do the job but was quoted $866 for 2 motors with postage from robotmarketplace, and god knows what else when you add import duty and VAT.
Ommmmmmmmmmmm - I have calmed down now.........

Re: Cim motors - help!
how about iskra motors?
Not sure how they compare dia wise to the CIMs but they are similar if not near identical to a magmotor as we were able to replace the drive motors on typhoon 2 from iskras to the smaller mags purely to save weight.
