My first tournament w.a.r
COMPRESSION
BODY SHAPE: Looking down from above it€™s a triangle, the bottom line is the front
WEIGHT: 100kg
DIMENSIONS (L X W X H): 75cm (90cm with wedge and claws) x 75cm (shrinking progressively down to 25cm at the rear) x 15cm
COLOUR: Polished to perfection, the claws are gold with red tips and the spikes are black
LOCOMOTION: 2 x 164mm go-kart style wheels with aluminium hubs and vulcanised tyres
GROUND CLEARANCE: 7mm
SKIRTS: A 5mm hardox hinged wedge at the front (between the claws) that flops over when the robot is inverted, as do the 5mm grade 2 titanium side skirts
DRIVE MOTORS: 2 x Bosch 750w motors running at 36v
DRIVE BATTERIES: 2 x NiCad battlepacks running at 36v in parallel

TURNING CIRCLE: 0 metres
BODY ARMOUR: 3.2mm hardox monocoque for the most part, with 5mm hardox extra protection in key areas such as battery mounts
CHASSIS: 3.2mm hardox monocoque
WEAPON 1: The front horizontal Kan Opener-style crushing jaws are closed completely via a vivoil pump powered by a LEM-130 motor @ 36v, the hydraulics are at 3000psi giving 4.5 tonnes of crushing force between the tip, this is interchangeable for a pneumatic setup powered from a 3kg bottle and 2 x 100mm rams at 725 psi each. The claws themselves remain the same in both setups and are tungsten tipped with serrated edges
WEAPON 2: The hinged wedge between the claws beaches opponents with the Mute-style barbs it has so that the opponent can be pushed around while the claws keep hold, this is perfect for pitting robots because the wedge will flop over the edge of the pit so when the claws let go the opponent will fall straight in. Also on either side of the rear point there is a tungsten tipped spike, so when the robot spins on the spot with the two wheel drive it functions as a thwackbot
WEAPON BATTERIES: 2 x NiCad battlepacks running at 24v in parallel
SRIMECH: Can run inverted
STRENGTHS: Powerful weaponry, can end battles in seconds due to grab and pit using the weapon synergy, fast, good armour

WEAPON 1: A Firestorm-style front hinged flipper hinged 5cm up the wedge and ending 5cm from the end, it is powered by 2 x 120mm rams at 175psi from 2 x 1.1kg bottles, giving 15-20 flips per bout.
WEAPON 2: The robot is a very good pusher
WEAPON BATTERIES: Just a few A123s to operate the valves
SRIMECH: The flipper will right the robot quickly and easily
STRENGTHS: Good all rounder, good pusher, decent weapon, good armour

if im going to bulk it up to 12 i will need 2 more entrys before sunday

My first tournament w.a.r

My first tournament w.a.r
I think Ill enter some vapours that dont get aired as much:)
Cobalt
Shape - Mostly a shallow wedge with a small box section at the rear.
Speed - 16 MPH
Dimensions(lwh): 70CM X 45 CM X 20 CM
Armour - 4 mm Hardox for the top, 5 mm for the sides and 5 mm Grade 5 Ti for the base.
GC - 3 CMs at the very rear, going down to 0 at the front, assisted by a sharpened wedge extender allowing it to slide under the lowest ground clearance.
Weapon 1 - The wedge.
Weapon 2 - A flat disc of doom style flywheel on the front wedge. Robots get thrown off after having their bases and wheels shredded. The disc is run on a Lem-130 on 24 volts and spins at 500 RPM. The disc is made of 4 mm Hardox, with two Hardox teeth, angled in the direction of spin.
Drive - Two wheel drive, with the wheels positioned at the very rear of the machine and castors around the middle to provide stability. This is powered by two S28-400 Magmotors on 24 volts.
Srimech - A lifting bar/plate made of 5 MM Grade 5 Ti/V. This not only self rights the robot, but also gives the disc some protection from axe attacks. The base bar is curved so it avoids hitting the disc. This is powered by a LEM-130 on 24 volts.
Masamune
Shape: Barrel shaped, with a 20 CM long wedge at the front, with a sword blade extender. More on this a little later.
Speed: 15 MPH
Size: 80x50x25 CMs (LWH)
GC: 3 CMs at the sides and rear, 0 at the front.
Armour: 6 mm Hardox all over except for a 5 mm Ali baseplate. With the exception of the wedge, the barrel is made out of one sheet of hardox so there are no plates that can just be torn off.
Weapon: Retractable sword lifter. The sword blade can be extended 15 CMs out from the wedge to allow it to get under any spinner safely, or it can be retracted to extend only a couple of CMs from the wedge to allow it to lift with more control. The actual moving part s the wedge, which is powered by two linear actuators and should be able to lift around 200 KGs. It can also be lowered slightly, causing the sword to dig into the floor slightly resulting in it being able to get under even 0 GC wedges and skirts. The actual sword blade is made from 5 mm grade 5 Ti.
Drive: 4 internal wheels with vulkanised tyres, powered by two S28-400 Magmotors at 24 volts.
Batteries: 4 packs of 24 volt NiCads.
Shrimech: The rollover barrel shape. If it gets stranded against a wall, it can use the sword to push itself away.

My first tournament w.a.r
Walk Dont Run: Team up with Matty. I could spin up, hit, hit and hit Heliosa more and more, and then Matty could flip it out. Avoid the front of Hypertension and Heliosa at all costs.
Neo Mecha: Team up with Paul and trash Son of Wedgie. Avoid the front of Son of Wedgie like there is no tomorrow.

My first tournament w.a.r
yeah kody only one vapour goes through
-
My first tournament w.a.r
...sod all my predictions and tactics then seeing as theyll be worthless. :proud:
Ill just put them in short form, then. :P
Fight 1: Wedga
Fight 2: Wedgin8or - flip, flip, and more flip. Aim to get them down the pit.
Fight 3: Back to Rock
Fight 4: Hypertension
Fight 5: Dervish
Fight 6: Son of Wedgie? :proud:
Fight 7: SoR
Fight 8: Kracko - well then I really am screwed. Err...just try and damage them as much as possible and dont hold back once Im spun up. My omni-bot manoeuvrability should really help here. :proud:
-
My first tournament w.a.r
Uh...Stiltskin and No Consequences will flip things out and spin and hit things respectively.
Good luck to all I guess :P
-
My first tournament w.a.r
Tactics or my first ever tournament!
I shall give predictions too, winners in bold, my robots underlined.
group one:
Wedge trition v Tsunami v Flick of the Wrist
group two:
Wedgein8or v haldux 2.0 v masamune
group three:
Back to rock v Cobalt v Compression
Hopefully I can win this however unlikely it may seem right now. Compression has stupidly thin dimensions here, I had changed it but not before I entered this tournament  That means I can grab Cobalt, but not Back to Rock III. Therefore my plan is to open the pit and try to get Cobalt down there as quick as I can. His armour is strong so Ill be using the pneumatic steup to grab him quickly. After that just go thwackbot and spin madly to try and keep Back to Rock III away from me, and if he comes close hopefully do some damage. If that doesnt succeed then Ill have to try and just beach him on my wedge (which with my barbs should be quite alright). If I get him on the wedge Ill try and pit him.
group four:
Walk dont run v Hypertension MK3 v heliosa xtream
group five:
Heyght II v Thunderstorm v Dervish: The L337 Generation
Dervish looks to as if it can get beached on its side, and with my front hinged flipper that should be easier. Just try to run in underneath and prop him on his side, then go after Heyght II. With a flipper that powerful it will throw itself up into the air if nothing is on the flipper, so my plan is to try and make him flip when Im not on the flipper, then run in underneath and throw him over. From then on my weight and power d=advantage will be handy, allowing me to shove and bully him around while flipping him over and over, and hopefully into the pit or over the fence.
group six:
Mecannible 3.0 v Son of wedgy v Neo-mecha
Group seven:
Sor x v Chalky 3g v Stiltskin
group eight:
Krako v Monsoon magnum v no consequences
Good luck everyone :)
-
My first tournament w.a.r
Neo Mecha will press the pit button, and push Mecannibal into the pit using the wedge on the back, and then use the disc to trash Son of Wedgie. Avoid the front of Son of Wedgie at all costs!
Walk Dont Run will spin up and try to shock kill anyone who comes near. Keep away from the front of these robots at all costs.
Good luck.
-
My first tournament w.a.r
Haldux: Act like a drunk driver, hit and run, but with lots of flipping, and hopefully 2 OOTAs
Heliosa: Same!
-
My first tournament w.a.r
hey guys
sorry this is turning into a bit of a fiasco, been busy with school work
will get a few fights up before christmas
-
My first tournament w.a.r
ok! first fight!
first into the arena is... flick of the wrist
this six wheeled monster certainly looks the part, with 6 wheels he will have a hell of a lot of traction and pushing power... but will a lack of damaging weapons let f.o.t.w down?
*Martijn waves*
next...Tsunami !
wow! this flipper looks awsome, o.t.as expected! good armor and a great flipper makes this a contender for the title... but if the flipper goes whats left?
*will grins*
and, last but not least...wedga trition!
woah! a bio-hazard shaped bot with a killer flipper, side skirts mean that flipping it will be VERY hard as will pushing it...its opponents will have to be brilliant at both driving and tactics in order to knock this one out!
*A.J waves*
the crowd is going wild as the 2 house bots (kill-a-lot and dead metal) do some dance moves around the arena.
3...2...1... activate!
and f.o.t.w goes charging in there! ouch! he rams straight into the side of tsunami...as f.o.t.w backs away 2 dents can be seen in the side of tsunami where the spikes went in. wedga-trition (who has been staying out of harms way until now makes his move on tsunami...flipping it onto its back!
the crowd roars as tsunami pulls of a superb self righting flip...flipping itself over wedga and onto its wheels; f.o.t.w then storms in but misjudges his attack and drives straight onto tsunamis flipper! tsunami drives to the arena wall and...
F L I P !
f.o.t.w goes o.t.a! woah! thats hight! must be...6 feet! f.o.t.w goes crashing out!
now its a flipper frenzy! wedga hits the pit button and then charges at tsunami but misses and goes into dead metals c.p.z
G R I N D !
sparks fly as the saw comes down! ouch! wedga escapes with a few grind marks and 1 or 2 dents...tsunami is in the middle of a victory spin... a.j sees his chance and pushes tsunami towards the pit...will trys to rectify his mistake but to late as the remains slide into the pit!
C E A C E !
wedga-trition goes through

-
My first tournament w.a.r
ok guys , second fight!
Hello and welcome to the second episode of W.A.R! Im your host Jack Orr with my co-commentator Harry Orr. well now Harry, what are your thoughts on this upcoming battle ?
Well Jack we have 3 very good robots here today, all 3 of them have flipping/lifting weapons but none of them have the regular rear hinged design, this should make for a interesting battle. the winning factor might turn out to be who has the most co2/ biggest flipper/ best reliability but i think driving skill will play a major part. On that basis i think Haldux 2.0 has a good chance because it can flip many, many times but then again Masamune will have great traction with that 4 wheel drive... and Wedgeinbor has that ingenius double flipper so brilliantly used by St Agro... ill have to go with Haldux for this one, but i know Frank and Kody will want to make me eat my words!
Thank you Harry for those wise words, now over to our match commentator Tom Shortt!
Hello FRA, the match is about to kick off but first of all here are a few stats!
*Wedgeinbor*
This Fantastic robot uses a St Agro style Flipper and is well driven by Kody Kunz , this double flipper design means he doesnt need to waste co2 on self-righting but it does reduces the power of the flipper.
*Kody waves*
*Haldux 2.0*
Ben Read has entered a Brilliant front hinged flipper, i think loosely based on Envy, Haldux has loads of co2 and loads of driving skill!
*Ben waves*
*Masamune*
last but not least is Frank Goachers Masamune, a rollover design means he mostly has no need for shrimecs , but in the event that he gets stacked against the side wall he can use his weapon (a lifting sword) to push himself back onto his wheels.
*Frank grins*
Now enter the house robots, Matilda with her spinning flywheel and shunt with his diamond edged axe.
*Matilda and Shunt do some dance moves!*
3
2
1
ACTIVATE!
And there they go, Wedgeinbor charges at Haldux, Kody eager to make Harry eat his words . OOH! he sends Haldux flying, you can really see the genius behind that double flipper, Haldux self rights and gets his revenge on Kody by flipping him wonderfully through the air.
*CRASH!!!*
Ooh that must of hurt, but Wedgeinbor keeps on going.
*WOOOOOO!*
The pit opens as Masamune presses the tyre, then Masamune zooms over to where Haldux and Wedgeinbor are still fighting it out, Kody who is in the same booth as Frank, gives a nod and they start pushing Haldux in a pincer move.
The screech of tires can be heard all around the arena, Haldux is putting up a brave fight but the 4 wheel drive and lifting sword of Masamune is obviously to much for it, suddenly Ben has a brain wave and spins away leaving Masamune pushing thin air...
*plonk!*
The crowd roars as Masamune drives straight into the pit! Frank hangs his head and stalks out of the booth to escape Kodys laughter
Meanwhile Ben rams Haldux into the side of Wedgeinbor which brings Kody Back down to Earth with a bump, Kody then gets under Haldux and drives him over to the arena wall ...
FAALIP!!!
WOAH there goes Haldux and Bens chances, Wedgeinbor is the winner!!!
Kody, Frank and Ben come out onto the platform!
So Frank, what happened?
Well, when Ben span away i headed straight towards the pit, Masamune is a very quick robot and i couldnt stop in time, its a shame because Masamune is a very cool robot!
I dont doubt that, Ben what happened there then?
Well i did quite well at the start but towards the end Haldux went a bit sluggish, perhaps it was the flips from Masamune i dont know but that flipper is very powerfull!
Indeed, well now onto Kody... well done mate!
Cheers Jack i think i did well in that one!
Yes you did, now, was that pincer move planned ?
No but i have seen other robots use it in the past so i though why not give it a try?
Yes well, Congratutulations now onto...
Hang on a second Harry said he would eat his words if Ben Lost!
Yes but Kody...
No buts, go on get going !!!
* sound of munching behind the scenes * !!!
