I think the highest operating pressure you can get for co2 is 725psi pr 750psi

Fine 750 PSI, but what about nitrogen

Nitrogen is removed from the rules, only CO2, or compressed air on low pressure.

Also, a 120*180 ram is at least 12 kg, if a commercial available ram is used. And delivers on its own 1.5 times more power than a 100mm bore ram.
With 2 of these gasguzzlers, youre emptying a 2 kg CO2 bottle in 2 actions. And then the question of valves. Each one will need a 1 bsp or equivalent inlet valve (meaning 4 burkerts =2.5 kg at least).

Then the LEM130s. Youll need a boatload of batteries to provide the power, and then deal with it.

A nice vaporbot, unless you got acces to aboutish £50 000.

Ive just checked the Fra rules and the max operating pressure allowed for pneumatics is 1000PSI

Correct, but in reality you cant compress C02 past 750 psi as this is when it becomes a liquid. You can compress a liquid a small amount but there is no advantage to do this as it wont get you any more power.

The pressure of co2 in the main tank / cylinder is temperature dependant.
You may get 1000 psi on a hot day....and then only in the main tank ...extracting gas ... as in firing a ram ... has a cooling / freezing effect and will cause the pressure to drop dramatically.

are you using a 5kg as the main tank ?
Im quite sure no one uses more than 1 2kg for
a main tank except an old iron awe ? gilbert ?
and nearly everyone uses 1 2kg for a buffer
and they are powering quite large rams to.
I think you can lose a lot of weight here.

Craig, does beast have a much larger ram bore/stroke, and how many flips do you get per 5kg bottle or how much on average left over after a fight ?

Beast isnt mine, I jus know it uses a 5kg Bottle John Lear or LJ will be able to answer u beast I mean best

beast uses a mario ram but the stroke has been modified to 150mm or 175mm as we have a spacer in it to make it not go over vertical

we had to cut it down abit so the length was the correct length for our flipper arm

we dont know how many flips we get - with iron awe we had 1 good flip as that was all we needed lol but i dont think we have never come out of a fight with an empty bottle - my dad says we would prob get 30 good flips before something breaks lol

and the next event ill get someone to count

we dont really need a 5kg bottle but u no what my dads like he likes to show off abit and use all jonnos gas lol but you never know when you may need more flips!

o ye after this years replacement of the ram beast is back ready to rule ;)

what LJ really means is that hes never done a fight where he was able to count them either...

a) he got stuck upside down trying to selfright
b) he had a gas leak from the first flip
c) he had a wire come loose
d) he got flipped out the arena, or down the pit

one day maybe, there always an excuse !!
