Ben, I think you should finish your SHW tournament first. Also this is a VERY big and complicated tournament for an unexperienced writer such as yourself :)
-
Scrapyard Skrimish
Ben, youre doing what Paul did. :proud:
Please finish that SHW tournament first.
-
Scrapyard Skrimish
Whats wrong with doing a smaller fanfic?
-
Scrapyard Skrimish
Right, SHW finished, can we get on with this
now?

I would advise you to work on your writing skills a bit more, first. Your battles in the SHW tournament were quite decent, but they can use some improvement (thats CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, by the way, so dont take it like we hate you or anything :)).
As for the rules, theyre actually straight-forward to my eyes...I do see minor things...for instance, what are the weight bonuses for tracked machines? Shufflers? Walkers? Other motivations? Whats the rule on clusterbots and passive weaponry? Also...
quote:
A 20x20 square boxI presume you mean that in metres? Same with the other arenas?
Being a friendly member as I can be, I will reserve a spot and see how this goes. I want to decide to what to enter. :)
-
Scrapyard Skrimish
My battles do lack a bit
yes its metres
100KG for Wheels
110KG for Tracks
110KG for Shufflers
150KG for Walkers
Passive weaponry and comedy bots are allowed, flying bots are not, the rule on cluster is 50% eliminated = 100% eliminated
-
Scrapyard Skrimish
Ive decided. But before I post my entries, Id like to ask you if you could post a battle in the How Can I Improve? thread. That way we can give you advice, and thus help you write battles that will be even better, to you and to everybody else. :proud:
Right. Entries shall be posted directly here with links to the pics in their names:

Scrapyard Skrimish
Fatality
Weight: 100 kg
Body Shape: Cone.
Colour: Flourescent Blue Body with Turquoise and Green Teeth.

Tyres: 2 X Vulkanized Tyres.
Ground Clearence: 7mm all around. It has to be.
Armour: 6mm Hardox FBS shell, 6mm Polypropylene Base.
Turning Circle: Zero! Need I say more?
Weapon: A very nasty 36kg, 1500RPM FBS shell with 2 X 2kg Hardox Teeth and small Tungsten Carbide-tipped teeth all around, powered by an LEM-130 @ 36v. This can reach top speed in 2 seconds, and brings out about 80kJ. The teeth are curved, jagged, and barbed. Has a buttload of shock proofing inside to stop it from self-destruction. Holes drilled into it to reduce weight.
Srimech: An extremely blunt spike that comes out at the top, powered by 1 X 2kg CO2 Tank.

Srimech: The axe can easily self-right the robot, and it can self-right even after the axe has been fired. It should also have enough power to pull the robot back over from its sides.
Strengths: Lethal Axe, Awesome Pushing Power, Tough Armour, Nice and Fast.
Weaknesses: Limited CO2.
Mad Dash
Weight: 100kg.

Ground Clearence: Completely 0mm at the back and 5mm for the rest.
Turning Circle: It€™s completely zero, and you should know that by now.
Weapon: At the front there is a nasty 20kg Fluffy-Style Spinner (Horizontal) powered by a LEM-130 Lynch spinning at 4000RPM. The blade tips are sharpened, barbed and curved to cause max damage. The wedge at the back can also serve as defense for those nasty spinners, and if the blade fails to work, it can push robots around the ring.
Srimech: Invertible, Side spikes prevent it from getting beached.
Strengths: Very Destructive, Heavily Shock-Proofed, Good Control, Immense Pushing Power, Extremely Durable, Tracks Protected from all sides.
Weaknesses: Tracks exposed from the top, even though they€™re EXTREMELY strong.

Srimech: Invertible. Side spikes keep it from getting beached.
Strengths: Very Hard to get under, Immense Pushing Power.
Weaknesses: Let€™s just say the wheels are a bit exposed.

Armour: 6mm Hardox for the ring spinner, and 4mm Grade 5 Titanium for top and bottom.
Ground Clearence: 5mm all around.
Weapon: 30kg Ring spinner spinning at about 1300RPM, powered by a LEM-130, and has 6 X 1kg Hypno-Disc style teeth, curved, barbed and jagged to rip armour.
