I discussed this a bit with Kody and Matt and I think the following.

This Matthew was active here indeed, according to Matty, he doesnt remember that much about him though. According to Liams link he doesnt know all that much on robots, the technological aspect mostly. While that alone isnt a disaster, hell be the sole host of all this. Itll be seen as boring by the more experienced vapourboteers I guess. I cant see how this could add anything to our game.

On the other hand, it MIGHT be a nice starting point for some newcomers who have a hard time knocking a vapour together. I wanna see this new system Matthew develops first before passing my ultimate judgment, but untill then I wont sign up.

Some of Mark Elams comments suggested he was at least over the age to be able to legally drink alcohol (when he said I dont drink wine/beer, it did suggest he had a choice), but some of the stuff he says on this web page suggests hes quite young, which could explain the annoyingess

Yeah, the daddy this grandaddy that stuff indicates young age, but Mark has actually said before his behaviour is a side effect of the medicines he needs to take. It might very well be that his condition, whatever it is, makes him dependant on his parents more, even if he is able to legally drink...
