The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Right, due to exam revision (more its depressing effects than any volume thereof), Im holding off writing serious fights until I have some stress-free time to concentrate on things more. Despite this, I want to keep writing for some insane reason...
So, I present the TRIBUTE TO THE TIM TRIBUTE TOURNAMENT, which sadly died a death when Leo entered it. I need some robots; writing 100 million battles will be difficult so Ill ask for 8 people to enter 2 each, preferably new or newish creations. The rules are in theory the standard ones, although I wont be checking anything and randomness, rule breaking and stupidity are all heartily welcomed.
The format is: God knows. There will be fights, although precisely what form they will take is unclear. I may be serious, I may not, I may even mess around with Arenas of Destruction on my PS2 to get some of the results. Ill decide when I actually have to do the things :proud: The one thing I know for sure is: There shall be weird things, possibly within the laws of physics.
The arena will be the RW series 3 arena, or bear a vague resemblance to it anyway. Any questions, either feel free to ask or shamelessly exploit the loophole left by me not stating.
Since its nearly one in the morning over here, Ill probably regret saying this, but...GET ENTERING!

The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Actually, is it ok if i change my entries for this tourn? I would like to enter Weapon Synergy and Woodpecker if I may. :proud:

Weapon 1: A cam-driven axe mechanism, powered by a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor. (Interchangeable).
Weapon 2: A flipping arm, powered by a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor. (Interchangeable).
Strengths: Fastest axe mechanism currently around (hypothetically of course, this is only a vapour after all€¦ :proud:)
Weaknesses: The weapon itself is not very destructive, but mainly shows dominance in terms of number of this it can do.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front due to a sharpened Titanium front and side skirts, 4mm at rear.
Srimech: Invertible, but the axe mechanism has enough power in it to right it back onto its wheels.
Notes: The axe-head is based on Dominator 2€™s, and has small Titanium spikes on each end to aid in self righting. The axe-head is made of Titanium, with a 5mm Hardox tip. The flipper arm is made entirely out of 10mm Aluminium. The robot has 4 wheels get up in a skid steer system and runs off 2 Sinclair C5 motors @ 24v. Each side is connected to each other by a heavy duty rubber belt, and the wheels are made entirely out of Vulcalore. The weapon systems run off a 60v Briggs and Stratton 11kW motor geared down 15:1. The motor is connected to a cam wheel which in turn moves the weapon up and down on its pivot. When running at 60v, the weapon can move just under 5 times a second. The emphasis is not on power, but in dominance and aggression.
Name: Weapon Synergy (5-WAY CLUSTERBOT!!! :proud::proud::proud:)
Weight: 100kg (Each part weighs 20kg)
Armour: 3mm Titanium with 4mm Polycarbonate panelling.
Power: Each part is powered by 2 x S28-150 MagMotors running at 24v, giving each part 6HP of pushability.

Can we call this the teapot tourney?
It begins with a T, ends in a T and is full of T! :proud:

The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Minesweeper
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Tornado (S6)
Colour: Silver, with MINESWEEPER written on the sides.

Once a robot is stuck on the wedge, which has Mute-style barbs on it, the top Jaw, powered by a 2kg 1000psi Nitrogen tank, comes down with 5 tonnes of force. The weapon is designed to clamp so I can pit them, not to damage them, although it can damage 5mm titanium.
Srimech: An electric lifting arm, powered by a Bosch drill motor. the sides of the robot are rounded to prevent stranding, and they can roll the robot back on its wheels.

The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Heres Nitro-Gene 4.0s partner in crime (Sly Cooper  When the hell will we see that 4th game - come on Sucker Punch! Just forget inFamous, DO SLY 4!)
KNYFE
€ WEIGHT: 100kg.
€ ARMOUR: 6mm Hardox monocoque on the rear, top, front and sides. 4mm Titanium on the base. Inside, I have 4cm of Vulkanised rubber to make sure its good when facing spinners.
€ SHAPE: An invertible box shape, with varing front ends. The sides and rear meet at a fine triangualar point
€ MOTORS: 2 x LEM200€™s at 48V = 50HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 6 Vulkanised Wheels.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 80CM (H) 30CM (W) 80CM
€ COLOUR: The body is silver with golden edges, and name on top with thck gold outlines for each letter
€ WEAPONRY: Knyfe has weaponry that can be changed around to suite the robots it is facing.
1: A standard concave scoop made from 15mm Hardox, impossible to bend or scratch, and perfect for stopping FBS€™
2: A pair of Hardox spikes with diamond-sharp tips. These spikes are on a hindge, and will flip over if the robot is flipped over, and because these spikes scrape the floor, it€™s impossible to get under it whilst using them.
3: Front wedges, mounted in a similar way to those on forklift trucks, reaching out 10cm, and made of 8mm G5 Titanium, and of course getting thinner as it reaches the end of the wedges. The point of these is to ground other robots on them, and make them easier to push without resistance.
4: A 10mm Titanium static scoop with an extension. This is for getting under other rammers.
5: A 15mm Hardox wedge hindged at 42* with an extension, perfect for deflecting vertical spinners and getting under other robots.
€ SPEED: 20mph
€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0-8mm. The front will always be 0, and the sides and rear are protected by 7mm Titanium skirts on a rotary joint that joint at the hindges.
€ STRENGTH: Powerful drives and interchangeable weaponry.
€ WEAKNESS: Wheels might be targets for axes and crushers.

Too late Mark. No one will read it now. If its not in the stats, its not on the robot.

The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Here is the draw for:
THE TRIBUTE TO THE TIM TRIBUTE TOURNAMENT
Roveress vs. Twist Of Fate vs. Mega Masher 2
(Kody entry 2) vs. Minesweeper vs. Axes Of Evil
Opened By Transfer vs. (Kody entry 1) vs. War! HUNH! What is it good for?

Cat With Wheels vs. War Drum vs. (Martijn entry 1)
Woody-me-do vs. Knyfe vs. Weapons Synergy
Beta-Rex vs. Woodpecker vs. Spring-BOK!
I know some peoples entries arent in yet and theres an extra robot out of nowhere to compensate for the entries being indivisible by 3, but thats the least of your worries right now :proud:
Tactics, predictions, and comments please, not that it matters at all.
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
How many robots go through from each bout?
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Two. Or possibly one. Or even all three. Who knows?
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
LOL
May as well post TACTICS:
Cat with Wheels v War Drum v Martijn Entry
Ill just attack Cat with Wheels until it dies. Theres not much it can do to me, and I may be able to damage 7mm titanium with my drum.
Beta-Rex v Woodpecker v Spring-BOK!
*Strokes white cat*
We meet again Mr. Spring-BOK!
Im not worried at all here. Flip Spring-BOK! and push it onto the flame pit. The flip it around to cause maximum damage, then burn it again, then get it OOTA. As for Woodpecker, if I have to fight it Ill just use my superior HP and weapon power to dominate the match.
Good luck if anyone needs it in this bizarre tourney!
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Ill confirm With or Without you as my first entrant, Im still in doubt for my second one
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Wheres the stats for War! HUNH! What is it good for?
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Its a low plywood non-invertible wedge with a hydraulic humanoid arm sticking out of it holding a chainsaw...not really a threat.
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
MEGA MASHERS TACTICS
Go for Roveress, only because Im not too keen on taking on one of Franks robots.
SPRING-BOKS TACTICS
Take on Beta-Rexs challenge and just try to outlast him.
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Its not really a threat, but so is opened by transfer whose lack of a weapon and hardox armour puts it a good 20 or so KG underweight
Does that mean that ObT might win its first match :proud:
-
The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Very possibly :proud:
Im writing one of the fights at the moment...when can you get Woody-me-dos vague description in?

The Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament
Welcome all and sundry, to the Tribute To The Tim Tribute Tournament!
*fanfare, people cheering, streamers, dancing girls, balloons*
...okay, thats enough. Tonight will see the beginning of the tournament to end all tournaments. A tournament, if you like, that will mark the turning of a page in history, the beginning of a cultural revolution, no, a renaissance of combat robotics. You have never seen it before, and you shall be blessed to see the likes of it ever again. Oh yeah, and this tournament will start as well.
Anyway, our first first round fight is...
...Cat With Wheels vs. War Drum vs. With Or Without You
Unfortunately, we had a small problem when setting the arena up; we wanted the builders to change the lighting at the back from blue to green. Somewhere, there was a miscommunication between our staff and their staff, and not only is the lighting still blue, the arena is filled to a rather great depth with 97% distilled water. As a result of this, all the robots are on wooden rafts, and all the roboteers are in the booths looking rather fetching in their diving masks and little snorkels.
*Danny and Martijn wave, Liam checks his oxygen level*
So without further ado...
ROBOTEERS, STAND BY
Booth 1: Liam Eliot, Martijn Benschop
Booth 2: Danny Bailey

ACTIVATE
Amidst the vast, rolling ocean of water, the three competitors look like specks in amongst a mass of blue, as neither of them dare do anything for fear of falling off their rafts. After the brief pause, With Or Without You splits, and With You promptly shifts the rats centre of gravity too much and slides off, Without You doing some frantic maneuvering to stay on, as Martijn watches his machine slowly sink past his control booth, muttering something to Liam, who cant hear him because he has his underwater headphones on.
There is a period of silence, then Danny, feeling like doing something, fires Cat With Wheels flipper, and the resulting vent of CO2 causes his robots raft to start to move slightly backwards, away from War Drum and With You and towards where the angle grinders would be if they werent several dozen feet below the water. Martijn begins to spin Without Yous bar up, causing small ripples around its platform and forcing him to make small adjustments to its positioning to prevent the gyroscopic forces unbalancing it. War Drum begins to rock its raft backwards and forwards, Liam keeping his robot in time with his music, and there is now some activity on the ocean surface, as Cat With Wheels begins to move ever closer to the polycarbonate walls...closer...closer...the edge of the raft just nudging into the screening, which flexes slightly.
Without You is beginning to slow down its spinning, as it very nearly lost balance just then. War Drum is drifting away from Martijns machine and towards Cat With Wheels, which is now moving towards the control booths. Inside said control booths, Martijn is reading the FIRE EXIT sign, forwards and backwards, pondering the ultimate meaning and relevance of those two words. Danny is playing Tetris, and Liam is...actually, it looks as if Liam is having problems, as hes grasping at his snorkel, having dropped his controls, and as his mask begins to fill with water the joystick on his transmitter gets knocked forward and War Drum flies off the raft and down into the murky depths of the arena...ironically in to the pit on the sea bed, which fires its pyrotechnics with as much force as pyrotechnics can be fired when several metres underwater. Liam is now in real problems now, hes turning blue, so I guess that means Cat With Wheels and With Or Without You have qualified, as the ambulance is called to take Liam to the Pokemon Center to revive him.
CEASE
Cat With Wheels and With Or Without You never touched War Drum once, yet it lost and theyre through.
