Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Mark, refresh my memory please how exactly did Flick of the Wrist and Liar 2 become seeds in one of your tourneys?
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Actually Mark, Ive decided to be nice. Replace my realies with these:
Brutalis 2.0
Shape: Like Dantomkia, but lower and heavier at the front to prevent wheelying.
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 90 x 90 x 25
Motivation: 2 x go-kart wheels
Power: 2 x S28-400 magmotors running at 24v, 12HP
Armour: 4mm hardox on top, rear, front and sides. 4mm 7075 hi-grade aluminium base, 5mm titanium skirts.
Weaponry: 750psi front hinged flipper running off 1 x 100m ram powered by 2 x 2kg co2 bottles, can easily throw 500kg due to the armour being heavy.
Top Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 all round due to skirts on sides and rear and wedge at front, 6mm behind them.
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The flipper will easily spring the robot back onto its wheels.
Colour: Black, red flipper and yellow skirts.
Strengths: Strange shape, hard to flip
Weaknesses: Flipper not extremely powerful by vapour standards.
Former Incarnations: Brutalis 1.0, Brutalis 1.5
Notes: EOTR Annihilator Champion
Systematic Shocker
Shape: Invertible box
Weight: 110kg with setups 1, 2 and 3, 100kg with setup 4
Dimensions: 80 x 100 x 30
Motivation: 2 x steel tank tracks
Power: 2 x B42-500 magmotors running at 60v, gives 60HP
Armour: 4mm hardox, skirts are 5mm titanium
Weaponry: Interchangeable:
1) 3mm hardox front scoop which can lift 200kg, powered by 1 x LEM-130 at 36v.
2) 3mm hardox horizontal spinning disc (50 x 50) powered by 1 x LEM-130 at 36v. Approx. 30Kj hit
3) 2 x 30cm long tungsten tipped hardox lifting spikes, powered by 1 x LEM-130 at 36v, can lift up and down to work both ways up.
4) The scoop from setup one, but static. This gets the weight down to 100kg and gets around any 100kg for tracks rules.
Top Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 due to scoop and skirts, 8mm behind them
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: Invertible
Colour: Red with the name painted on top in green.
Strengths: Interchangeable weaponry, loads of HP
Weaknesses: Tracks exposed from above.
Former Incarnations: System Shock
Henry VIII
Shape: Box, slightly arched from the side (like Ally Gator from RW3 if you don€™t get it), with sloped sides
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 85 x 85 x 20
Motivation: 4 x vulkalon tyres
Power: 4 x S28-400 magmotors running at 24v, 24HP
Armour: 4mm thick hardox on top and sides, 3mm hi-grade 7075 aluminium base
Weaponry: Tungsten tipped double-headed hardox axe on a rack and pinion system, powered by co2 at 750psi, can hit robots at the back and front due to it being hinged in the middle and being 60cm in length, also has a 3mm titanium static scoop at the front to get underneath other robots.
Top Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 at front due to scoop, 8mm behind the scoop and on sides and rear
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The axe will easily right the robot quickly, no matter what position it is at.
Colour: Black, red axe head, name painted in red on the scoop
Strengths: Marital experience, quick Srimech, powerful weaponry
Weaknesses: Base armour is fairly weak, but it is hard to hit anyway as the Srimech is fast.
Gulp
Shape: Tank
Weight: 110kg
Dimensions: 95 x 70 x 45
Motivation: 2 x steel tank tracks
Power: 4 x S28-400 magmotors running at 24v, 24HP
Armour: 4mm hardox on all sides, 3mm titanium skirts and base, 5mm titanium top
Weaponry: Tazbot-style 360 degree turret with hardox lifting arm. The turret is spun by 1 x LEM-130 magmotor giving it reasonable effect when spun like a spinner. The arm€™s lift/crush capabilities are powered by another LEM-130 running at 36v should lift/crush with 200kg of force. I don€™t expect it to crush through hard armour, but it should be enough to stop an opponent self-righting. At the bottom of the 50cm long arm there are two tungsten tipped spikes facing in different directions.
Top Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 all round due to skirts, 6mm behind the skirts.
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The arm can right the robot in any direction due to it being turret mounted.
Colour: Camouflage
Strengths: 360 degree weapon/self-righting, multiple attack methods with one weapon (flip/crush/spin)
Weaknesses: Weak base armour and fairly weak top armour
Beta-Rex
Shape: Reverse wedge with rounded sides
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 95 x 90 x 35
Motivation: 2 x go-kart wheels
Power: 2 x B42-500s running at 60v, provides 60HP
Armour: 6mm titanium flipper, 4mm hardox front, sides and top, 4mm hi-grade 7075 aluminium base
Weaponry: 1000psi nitrogen flipper with 1 x 100mm ram, 2 x 3kg bottles provide the power. The flipper is T-Minus style, but the arm goes down the wedge allowing it to act as a front hinged flipper from the rear. 1600kg of flipping force!
Top Speed: 25mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 at front and back (flipper and wedge), 8mm on the sides behind the 5mm titanium skirts which make it effectively 0
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The flipper can perform a 540 degree spin, and the sides are rounded to prevent beaching
Colour: Gold
Notes: €œMWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!€ written on the bottom- one more HA than there was on Alpha-Rex
Strengths: Lots of HP, powerful flipper, can flip from front and rear
Weaknesses: Base armour could be stronger
Former Incarnations: Alpha-Rex
Marwolaeth
Shape: Invertible box
Weight: 110kg
Dimensions: 80 x 100 x 20
Motivation: 2 x shuffle pads
Power: 2 x S28-400 magmotors running at 24v, 12HP
Armour: 6mm titanium top and base, 5mm titanium skirts, 4mm hardox sides.
Weaponry: 50 x 50 3mm hardox horizontal spinning disc powered by 2 x LEM-130s at 36v, can get up to 1500rpm in 3 seconds. 2 large serrated blades placed adjacent to each other are to rip. When at top speed can deliver a 97.5Kj hit.
Top Speed: 10mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 at sides and rear due to skirts, 6mm at front and behind skirts
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: Invertible
Colour: Red
Strengths: Powerful weaponry
Weaknesses: Weak-ish top and base armour
Hatchet
Shape: Invertible box with stiff tail
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: 60 x 60 x 20
Motivation: 2 x go-kart wheels
Power: 2 x B42-500s at 60v, provides 60HP
Armour: 5mm hardox
Weaponry: 4mm hardox front scoop, 50cm long 3cm wide hardox tail with two tungsten tipped spikes facing in opposite directions (T shaped), when the robot spins this can deliver a 65Kj blow.
Top Speed: 25mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 at front due to scoop, 8mm behind and everywhere else
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: Invertible
Colour: Gold with name painted in red on top
Strengths: Lots of HP, strong armour
Weaknesses: Can only spin on the spot
And LockJaw.
Take care with this Mark, and you could turn yourself around.

MeCannibal vs Stealth vs Systematic Shocker vs Napalm
Heat B
Henry VIII vs Abaddon vs WORCK vs Robot the Bruce

The Quaestor vs LockJaw (10) vs D.V.D: The Sequel
Heat D
Wild Thing vs Marwolaeth vs 147 vs Coinst
Twn Twrn vs Beta-Rex vs Phoenix Down vs Bar-Red
Tactics, Predictions, and a bottle of wine to use to start the competition.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Mauler 5150 - Spin up onto Nitro-Genes wedge and please the crowd as I go haywire. :proud:
Napalm - Drive down the pit. :proud:
Robot the Bruce - Do something to Abaddon that makes it break down.
Major Tom - Leave the arena and attack the house robots, wherever they are.
Diotoir - Go over the flame pit
Wild Thing - Ram 147 until it dies of laughter
Twn Tryn - Sit there and kill everybody by looking ugly.
And wheres Brutus Maximus? This seems like the entire draw, not a half-draw. :P
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Erm...
Shouldnt you wait to get all your entries in first? Now we all have 2 robots in each heat, and 1 of the battles only has three robots in it.
Your not listening to advice Mark, AGAIN.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
*goes out and gets some wine*
TICTACS:
Nitro-Gene vs. FLIRTY SKIRTY vs. Brutalis vs. Mauler 5150:
Uh...Ill do whatever Flirty Skirty did in its heat semi final, which I believe amounted to sod all :proud:
MeCannibal vs. STEALTH vs. Systematic Shocker vs. Napalm:
Eugh, spinners...Paul, wanna team up? I mean, you really dont want to come up against Systematic Shocker later on, and if we team up we could take him out easily...Napalm we could get around to if it hasnt killed itself by then :P
Henry VIII vs. ABADDON vs. WORCK vs. Robot The Bruce:
Swing around and generally hit stuff.
Gulp vs. GABRIEL II vs. Tri-Tainium vs. Major Tom:
Paul, you want another team here? We can take out Gulp early if you bash him around and I flip it over the fence, and well deal with Major Tom when the time comes - I dont really think itss pose much threat.
NIDHOGG vs. Envy vs. The Rock vs. Diotoir:
Get under people, raise the forks to trap them, crush, and pit. Im open to team ups if anyone offers.
THE QUAESTOR vs. LockJaw vs. DVD:
Wot, no fourth opponent?
Wild Thing vs. Marthingy vs. 147 vs. Coinst:
Let Kody laugh himself to death, and flip the nearest other thing over the fence.
Twn Twrn vs. Beta-Rex vs. Phoenix Down vs. Bar-Red:
Use the standard setup, and ram Beta-Rex into Bar-Red to kill one of them. Along the way, I will ever so slightly graze the side of Twn Twrn, which considering Tridents axe killed it, should cause it to spontaneously combust.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Meh.
Tactics anyway:
Nitro-Gene 4.0 v Mauler 51-50 v Flirty Skirty v BRUTALIS 2.0
Team up, Paul? This should be easy even if Paul says no. Flip Mauler, then flip Flirty.
MeCannibal v Stealth v SYSTEMATIC SHOCKER v Napalm
How could you Joey? Dont listen to him Paul- you deserve better than Stealth! For this match Ill fit my spinning disc and use to it trash Stealth. Napalm will drive down the pit anyway.
HENRY VIII v Abaddon v Worck v Robot the Bruce
Uh.. hammer Robot the Bruce, let Paul deal with Abaddon, if he wants to team up.
GULP v Gabriel II v Tri-Tainium v Major Tom
Joey you are such a meanie:crazy:
Ill easily flip Gabriel, then smash its weak baseplate with my spinner. Tri-Tainium can easily deal with Major Tom or help me with Gabriel if Paulll team up.
Nidhogg v ENVY v The Rock v Diotoir
Team up with Joey.
The Quaestor v LOCKJAW v DVD
I assume the other one is Brutus Maximus? If so, I propose a team-up with Paul. If not, same tactics.
Wild Thing v MARWOLAETH v 147 v Coinst
Trash 147 for calling me Marthingy:crazy:
Twn Trwn v BETA-REX v Phoenix Down v Bar-Red
Joey or Paul, team-up?
Good Luck all.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
I cant be bothered to type it all out or copy and paste...forgive me, Im just being lazy :proud:
Yeah, a team up sounds alright, I think I could survive a hit from Bar-Red so just go in and ram it. You can deal with the weird thing, Im not going near it unless its absolutely necessary :P
And for the Gabriel fight, you seem to underestimate the strength of aluminium, and also the fact I can selfright. :proud:
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Revised tactics for that fight with Gabriel in it:
Open the pit, flip Joey, use my lifter to pin him down and pit him
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
MARK!
Weve been OVER and OVER and OVER this, Im 100% positive I NEVER entered Flick of the Wrist in one of your tournaments, how on Earth is it seeded 4?!?!?!
You state the rule that people with enough vapours have to enter an all vapour team, yet after only 1 person entering you BREAK that rule completely!
You open an 8-people tournament yet after 4 people in you post a draw!
Im very sorry but I cant take this too serious right now
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Martijn is right Mark.
I said earlier about posting the draw already, and after checking through VRW1 Flick of the Wrist was never entered, you just took it.
I am considering withdrawal from this tournament.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Im really disappointed I gave you a chance here Mark, and you go and waste it. Im not going to post in tactics because of this.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
...meh, more chance for Flirty Skirty to win :proud: I thought it was a bit odd though...Mark, if youre going to be serious about regaining respect, at least realise what made us lose it in the first place.
-
Virtual Robot Wars Series 2
Mark still hasnt listened to ADVICE and opened a SMALL 4-6 Robot tourney. Listen Mark, I had just as bad a start as you on this forum, but I listened to advice and turned it around before things got too bad. You have sorted your vapourbots, now you need to sort out your tournaments. Until you heed the advice of experienced veterans like Martijn, Kody and AJ I am withdrawing from this tournament. Sort it out and I will re-enter, but dont you even DARE think of taking my bots. Perhaps Paul is right and we never should have given you another chance with this tourney...
Prove me wrong, please.
