thats the hardest way of removing a chuck off a drill i have ever seen lol, i just stick the chuck in the vice then turn the drill on so i will unscrew the chuck off
yeh i thought that
When was this made? Just looking at the retro intro graphics... I suspect that for most of the viewers, the 5 1/4 floppy disc was already obsolete before they were born.
hmm
well David has a robogames t-shirt and on the robogames website there is results which go back to 2004 but i think that year it was called robolympics and was named robogames from 2005 to now
but was added onto that page on 3rd march this year so is either brand new or copied from somewhere
he doesnt look to have aged either since we saw him in august 2007 so i think its a recent clip
Old or not, it is still applicable. Although I wouldnt take the chuck of a drill like that.
Actually, he mentions 2.4GHz so it cant be that old.
Well clearly it wasnt made in the 80s, just intrigued why they thought graphics of 5 1/4 floppies and something that looks like a Commodore PET was creating the right image...
Revision 3 (the production company) is only about a year old, so this is a brand new show. The 80s graphics are just meant to look old school.
Simon
Well then they succeeded. :)
That video is ace.
So funny! David is ace, great to have meet him and got to know him at the UK Champs in 2007, so funny.
Classic quotes This your run of the mill china slave labour drill... Very cheap.. .lol
And Do children still have paper rounds? i dunno, just old people throwing papers out of small vans...
LOL
Is a good clip, worth watching just for the fun of it, but it is helpful also.
Mr Stu
How about Get your Amish on
I did get annoyed with the host cutting of Daves sentences and Dave repeating every word after that.
yeh i agree that was very annoying the show could have been a few minutes shorter if that hadnt happened
glad everyone likes it seeing as i found it :)
Those robots arent made very well. The were designed for playing hockey, not for combat. When Dave took 4 of them to India for a demo competition one pretty much fell apart while fighting Desvastator with all the batteries falling out after it hit the roof and another died after only one hit from Avengers axe. If I remember right the other two lost after their drive wheels fell off.

found another online one which i thought looked quite good, the whole sites seems to be about robots so even better

Thats a pretty good guide you found there Alex.
Instructables is a great website, you can loose hours in it if you are not careful.

That is awesome. Really cool.

Perhaps the FRA could do with a humanoid section ;)

May I just add that if you are not building a spinner between steps 3-4 or 5-6 you should build a model out of cardboard to test your robots against other models or just pieces of balsa wood
