ok, so will one be able to handle 2x speed 900s and a linear actour?
thanks woody
I didnt have alot of luck with the ones i had, both blew after one event (that was just running gold motors). You will have to use relays for the actuator as the weapon channel can only supply 0.3amps.
I had used an IBC on ploughbot with 2 astros at 24v for almost a year with no problems untill i blew a motor and that just blew a track. Great control too with some awesome features such as BEC, LED port, failsafes, weapon channel for powering relays etc.
are you still using it Grant? or have you replaced it for something else? as i would be interested if you are planning on selling
thanks alex
I use a Vantec RDFR23 now, but i do still have it. If you make me an offer on price i will consider selling it, but not 100% sure what the plan is for using it as theres a new robot comming soon.
well at the moment i only have £60?
sorry, £60 wouldnt be enough - I might need to buy a vantec if i sold it so would need atleast a good chunk towards that.
would you be willing to hang on to it for a while?
yes ill be keeping it here.
good good, i have sent a e-mail to you grant if you dont respond ill post here again
thanks for the help
can i ask how many people think these are a good controller? and how many people have had them blow up?
thanks alex
I had weird problems with mine. Wired everything up and worked for about 2 minutes and for some reason the big capacitor , one of its legs went red hot and separated and then the voltage regulator blew up. No idea why though.
But you shouldnt be discouraged by my post , many guys in Australia have had no problems at all and they take a fair bit of punishment.
Mine broke originally because i didnt mount it properly and the heatsink moved and pulled all the legs off the fets. But I Alistair says it is a good controller, possibly better control than the equivalent Vantec.
Agreed - possibly better control wise than the vantec and much better features, just ashame there were a few bad ones out there and they cant take the current of the vantec
how much is the suitable vantec? and how many channels do they have?
thanks alex
Only the 2 channels, the last vantec RDFR23 i bought was about £180, down from £250 the previous time due to the exchange rate and I got round paying import duty.
If you ask them politly they wil send it as a gift or sample and get you around the import duty - mine didnt get through customs and i ended up paying 250 fot it, great controllers though.
