Tornado, the current holder goes up against No Objections, the dome from Kuwait!
Filling two of our 4 CPZs this evening will be the beautiful Matilda and the unstoppable shunt!
Tornado is a simple invertable box design, underestimated by many.It was a semi-finalist in robot wars 4, had an embarassing loss to Diotoir in series 5, but returned in series 6 with interchangeable weaponry to take Razers crown once and for all. It later became the european champion, and came a respectable 3rd in the final series of Robot Wars. For this battle the team has opted to use their pushing scoop.
No Objections is a slightly more complex design, a striking yellow dome with a lifter easily powerful enough to flip Tornado.The edges of the dome are very sharp so that when the robot goes into a spin its nothing short of a whirling dervish from hell!Unfortunately for Joey at the controls its a 2-wheel drive so Tornado should hav no problems shoving it around the arena.

Tornado gets off to a very quick start, driving around No Objections and sliding underneath to push it onto the flame pit. No Objections escapes and gpoes into a spin, but before gets up to a good speed Tornado comes in for another attack!
CRASH!
No Objections is left reeling while Tornado lines up for another go. This time, however No Objections is ready and manages to get its lifter under Tornados side. It quickly lifts Tornado into the air, but it falls off and plunges to the ground with a slam! Tornado attempts to ram No Objections from the side with his rear end, but No Objections is too fast and gets his lifter in again, this time getting one of the forks stuck in Tornados wheel rut when it lifts the pushbot up! Tornados in a very vunerable position as No Objections gets a very sweet (and hot) revenge and dumps Tornado on the flame pit. No Objections then reverses into the pit release tyre and waits for Tornado to give chase. It does, but it seems No Objections pierced that tyre and now Tornado has weakened maneouvrability! Taking advantage of this, No Objections runs in on the attack and gets under the side of Tornado, flipping him over so that the scoop has no effect! Tornado attempts to get away, but No Objections drives in underneath and rams them into the wall before using the lifting arm to prop Tornado up against the angle grinder! No Objections tries to flip Tornado out, but refbot gets in the way and rights Tornado, which manages to get its scoop back under No Objections and pushes it towards the pit! However, something is wrong with Tornado as it stops pushing No Objections and the dome slides off its opponents wedge. It appears that one of Tornados unreliable drivetrains came loose at the same time the tyre was punctured, and now it has fallen off completely! No Objections finishes the fight off by pushing Tornado into Matildas CPZ, where the rambot meets the very deadly flywheel and sails through the air, coming to rest in the pit of oblivion!

Tonights battle will be No Objections first defence of his challenge belt, and the first challenger attempting to take that belt frm him wil be Cyrilium, a new machine frm Mark Elam. Correct me if Im wrong Mark, but I believe this wil b Cyriliums first ever battle!
Patrolling the CPZs tonight are Mr.Pyscho and as always hes accompanied by his ever-faithful mutt Growler, the canine born in the fires of Robot-Hell...
No Objections recently defeated Tornado (a previous european champion) to retrieve the belt. Joey isnt about 2 let go of it without a fight, and Mark Elam is the guy 2 giv him 1.
Cyrilium is a capital T-shaped robot with wedges at the front and rear. Its got the potential to give No Objections a good thwacking, but it cant run inverted and Joey will certainly try to get under that 1mm ground clearance.

Cyrilium is the first bot off the mark as it hurtles at No Objections full speed, slamming the holder into the arena wall!
CRASH!
No Objections is flipped by the force of the hit, but quickly self-rights and spins up. In an attempt to stop it spinning Cyrilium attacks again, and despite succeeding is sent spinning away across the arena floor. Taking adavntage of Marks momentary confusion No Objections attacks Cyrilium, slipping its forks underneath and lifting it up into the air!
CRASH!
Cyrilium falls off the forks and is lucky enough to fall down the right way up, and wastes no time in attacking No Objections again, getting underneath and ramming them into Pyschos CPZ! Pyscho brings his hammer down, but only just catches the edge of No Objections spinner rim, hardly causing any damage at all. No Objections was knocked free by the slight impact, and escapes from Pyschos grasp. Cyrilium, however is now trapped between Pyschos backside and the arena wall, and its unsual shape prevents it from getin free! Mr.Pyscho reverses onto the top of Cyriliums front wedge, and Mark takes his chance the reverse away. However No Objections is ready and gets in behind, lifting Marks machine for the second time!With amazing good fortune Cyrilium lands right side up again, but this time it isnt as quick to react and No Objections lifts it again, this time propping it up on the side wall! Before refbot can free Cyrilium No Objections lifts it off the side wall. Cyrilium falls right on top of No Objections with a slam, and Mark looks happy as he senses the impact may have damaged No Objections lifter.But hes never been more wrong, as Joey lifts again and Cyrilium ends up on his back! Refbot comes in and begins the count:

Cyrilium is immobilised!Growler comes in and grabs hold of Cyriliums corpse, dragging it onto the floor flipper like a good dog. As Cyrilium flies across the arena, No Objections does a victory spin and Joey celebrates his first successful defence of the belt.
CEASE!
No Objections keeps hold of the belt while Cyrilium goes back 2 the drawing board!
Not bad battles, actually...and not just because I won :P Theyre quite realistic, sound like something Id have seen on RW.

Thanks so much for letting me compete. Are you sure the house bots didnt do anything to Cyrilium? I would like one more shot with a new Cyrilium. Once I build it, that is.

Mark, Im afraid I dont understand what you mean by wedge on the bottom.Cyriliums welcome to have another go, but please explain it better first.

In Cyriliums last bout I counted the armour as being Scandium, or whatever it was you replaced the Cyrilium with on the HOW DO I IMPROVE thread. Please change the Cyrilium armour, it doesnt exist. Only then can Cyrilium challenge No Objections again. Also, in what direction is the flipper hinged?

and the only reason I want to use cyrilium armour was so if I lose, the house robots will not horribly destroy me.
however, if it is illegal, change it to 4mm titanium.
Also, Cyrilium has side skirts on the sides to give it an all around zero ground clearence.

Alright, Ill challenge Joey for the belt like the belt seeking little vapourboteer I am :proud:. Heres my top robot.
NITRO-GENE 4.0
€ WEIGHT: 100kg
€ ARMOUR: 5mm Hardox for the body. 6mm Hardox flipper.
€ SHAPE: Low invertible box with pointed sides and rear. At the front is a 42* wedge to aid in getting underneath other robots. All the lines have been curved over to make it harder for a spinner to grab onto a panel and rip.
€ MOTORS: 4 x LEM 130€™s at 36V = 36HP
€ LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulkanised Wheels.
€ DIMENSIONS: (L) 90CM (H) 17CM (W) 70CM
€ COLOUR: Black all over with the flipper coloured red.
€ WEAPONRY: A full pressure Nitrogen powered flipper at 1000psi, using a single 80mm ram at 1000psi. The flipper is mounted in the middle of the robot, and is 20cm wide and runs 30cm up the body. Using a 3cm long Titanium strip underneath the flipper, and a heavy flipping arm, the flipper runs completely along the ground. Running on a ratio 2.2:1, the flipper produces 1600kg of force at the tips, allowing me to launch anyone away! This version has 2 x 3kg Nitrogen bottles, giving me 25 flips!

€ GROUND CLEARANCE: 0MM-2CM. At the front, it is completely 0mm. On the sides/rear, its 2cm. The orginal weakness of Nitro-Gene (its high ground clearance) has been seen to by the skirts on the sides/rear. They are 5mm Titanium skirts and are joined together like BioHazard - at the corners. To avoid them breaking off, they are held in place by Hardox hinges.

Let Nitro-Gene come to me, and try and get off the flipper just before he fires it, then raise the lifting arm and jam it in the internals to try and break something, or at least raise it off the ground so I can push it easier. Otherwise, spin madly and inform Paul that I am writing the sumo round of TCC as we speak :P
