VRW Iron Gauntlet Challenge

To start off the entire VRW season, We will host several games and mini-competitions. This is a gauntlet type challenge; where the weapon is important, but speed and agility are very valuble.

The gauntlet is like this:
There are 3 routes.
Taking the right one will put you into an area with axes that come down from the walls. Once you past these, Sgt. Bash will attack you. If you get past him, you win, and go through to the annihilator.

Taking the center route will mean you must knock down some bricks, and Shunt, Matilda, and Dead Metal will attack you. There are axes here too, so watch your step.

The third route is taking the left instead. there, Growler awaits, and he thinks you are a very tasty morsel.

The robots that complete the course will go into the VRW annihilator. Just name your bot, and you can enter. 6 bots allowed in the competition. Up to 5 people per bot.

you can enter vapours, and you can enter bots from games, real robot wars bots, or bots from your imagination.

but, they must apply to all robot wars rules.

WEIGHT: 100kgs
DIMENSIONS: 100 x 70 x 37 (47 inc weapon) cm
SHAPE: Elongated triangular pyramid with steep rear and very shallow front, with a flat bit on the front edge and 2 cutouts in each side panel for eyes
COLOUR: Dark green and brownish roughly chevron patterning, fading to blood red towards the front. Weapons are gold coloured with flame red spines on the arm.
DRIVE: 2 Leeson M1120046 motors run at 24v from 4 NiCd packs driving 2 wheels, with a ball caster just behind the forks in the nose
SPEED: 14mph average, 20mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 0 at front due to forks, rising to 10mm at rear
ARMOUR: 4mm Hardox (7mm in key areas) on front, side and rear panels, 3mm aluminium baseplate
WEAPONS: Hydraulic crushing arm (constructed of hardened steel and aluminium alloy) at front driven from a Vivoil pump at 3000psi, giving 9 tonnes of force at the ram and 4.5 tonnes of force at the tip. Also has Haardvark-style lifting forks at the very front run from an S28-150 Magmotor and a lead screw capable of lifting 200kgs, generally used to hold opponents in place for the crusher to do damage.
SRIMECH: Via the weapon, which has decorative spines to assist in self righting. Spikes at the rear prevent the robot getting stranded.
NOTES: Components and armour shock mounted for protection against large scary spinny things. Eyes in side of robot serve as targeting lasers (they dont actually target, they just look really cool)
STRENGTHS: Can cause a lot of damage
WEAKNESSES: Slow at self righting

MOVEMENT- Tracks with 2XBosch Motors with 3 Ni-cad battery packs at 24 Volts
WEAPONS- Horizontal crushing claws at front made out of titanium with 6.25 tons of crushing power
SRIMECH- Invertible. Side spikes to stop it resting on its side

Panic Attack went through the bricks, and was stopped by Shunt and could not move.

Panic Attack 3: 5.1m

Gravity flipped through the axes in the right route, even throwing one axe into the air.

Gravity: Completed

Nidhogg proved impressive. didnt make it all the way, but tore a few holes in Growler with his crusher.

Nidhogg: 9.1m

Seung Mina 3 flipped Growler over, and made it.

Seung Mina 3: Completed

Flick of the Wrist knocked down the blocks, and knocked Shunt and Matilda into the pit.

Flick of the Wrist: Completed

X-Terminator ran into the already damaged Growler; sending him into the wall.
